At the end of listen number one, I choose Atlantic. I don't see that changing anytime soon, that's an incredible song.

Two completely different types of songs, it's a hard comparison. Comes down to your taste, if you dig the harder stuff you'll get more from The Earth Will Shake. If you're into prettier stuff, Atlantic will hit the spot.

this cd gives me a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy
gotta go with music box, although all the tracks are good. my friend and i agree it's a very solid album, but i don't know if it's gonna spark the musical revolution some people would have you believe. it's essentially a straight up rock album, albeit a very good one.

what surprised me is that Image of the Invisible (my least favorite by far) got 3 votes and Between the End and Where We Lie got 0. that's disappointing.

Best song on Artist = Don't tell and we won't ask
Both songs were last on the album.
Hence Red Sky.
That said, i've heard most of the demo's. And I can remember Red Sky wasn't the best. But transition between demo and final copy will be uber different.

good. i'm going to listen to it a few more times but the first time through, it was boring. there was one moment where i thought "oh, that's pretty cool" but the rest... a disgrace to the name thrice.
I liked The Earth Will Shake, the rest was self indulgent shit.

i really like it. like I said in the members forum. I think its a more grown up Thrice. If people were looking for their first album, they probably aren't going to like it. But this just being my opinion of course :)

The day it comes out my girlfriend and I are going to skip school and drive around all day listening to Thrice. That's my motivation for now downloading it, otherwise each song would have been played about 100 times already.
I'm so proud of these guys. This seems like that record that you've wanted to make your whole life but just didn't know it.

just wanna make sure im hearing everyone right, what exactly do you mean by self-indulgence? i mean I know what it means in general, but towards this album?
For the peopel saying "this isn't Thrice": You're probably right, but get this: It is an excellent record put out by the same guys! So it isn't TAITA and it certainly isn't IoS...but guess what it is Vheissu (V is a horrible acronym for this record...damn), and it is a very solid release that has given them a more paltable side to hopefully gain more fanbase, while still being an album that doesn't (in my mind) sell out at all.
OK, for example, Mars Volta's first album was great. It was creative, but not "too out there". However, their 2nd album was complete garbage, because they just let it all out. The same goes for this album. It could have been really good, but they took it too far.

Everyone hates on that cd too much. Sure the first one was easily better than it, but I don't think it was "complete garbage."
Atlantic, earth will shake, red sky, music box, and image of the invisible are great, still need to listen to the others more.

It's good to hear there are better tracks than 1-4 and 7. I DL'd the leak but I just can't bring myself to listen to the others. I love the feeling of getting a CD in the mail, popping it in, rocking out, the liner notes, etc.
So i'm trying my best.
Of the tracks I've listened to, Music Box and Atlantic are my favorites and they are completely different tracks. I'm really looking forward to Red Sky.
I think my least favorite it Between the End. Nice intro, the rest doesn't do much for me.
