So I'm starting to gage my ears, I'm only at 12 right now cause I just started. Does anyone know what the biggest size you can go down to, that will still allow your ear holes to go back to small?
IAmCountryMusic

10?
Tyler Revolution
09/30/05, 12:31 AM
It's gotta be bigger than that. I've heard different things. I've heard 6, and also a kid I know said he had 0's in a long time ago, and now his holes are back to normal size. That kid is probably full of shit, but it has to be bigger than 10. You can't even see through them at 10.

I have friends who have shrunk completely back up from even a 0 gauge, although I haven't stretched my ears for a while I probably wouldn't go bigger than a 4 but that's just my preference. Some people even shrink back from beyond double 0, it just depends on your body and if you did it right (don't go too fast).

A year or so? Maybe? I'm not sure, maybe less. I don't see him that often, and I don't know if he really stuck to that whole "I'm not going to stretch them."
Edit: I just spoke to him, and he says he doesn't know how long it'll take you to go back to "normal", but that if you get up to 2's it will never go back the way you want it. Apparently, he's going back to stretching, and plans on getting a 1/2".

I have my ears at 1/2 an inch. I did it slowly and never got any scarring, so if I took my plugs out today in about 3 months they would be considerably smaller, but never back at 18 or 20 which is what a piercing stud is. It all really depends on if you did it correctly and how big you get them is just a small factor in it. I would say going to a 6 and back would be fine even if you had problems along the way, but going to 0 and back would also be just as easy if you took care of it while you were doing it.

Wait, so the larger the number, the smaller the gauge/plug thing, right? So is a 10,000 when they gauge a single skin cell on your ear? That's pUnk RaWk!

In between each stretch you need to wait longer than the previous one. At the higher gauges(smaller size) it should be about 2-3 months. You can get away with just two though. During the actual stretch use a water based lube to help get the bigger size in, even if you think you can slip it in. It is better to be safe than sorry. If you stretch too fast and get a tear or anything comes out the other side, immediately go to a smaller gauge and let the tear heal and once it is healed start the 2-3 month wait again. For cleaning just use antibacterial soap with no scent. Dial is the best. In the shower lather it and put it around the piercing, not in it and then kind of direct the water over the soap. After a few weeks the initial stretch should heal but you have to still wait to actually stretch. Once you get really big, I suggest going to a piercer and he can help with a taper or weights. Tapers can help in smaller gauges but shouldnt be needed if you wait long enough.
Sorry if that is wicked confusing and stuff but it is kind of hard to explain via the internet. And if you ever have questions just go to a piercer they are more than willing to help. Also make sure you use good jewelery not random household items. Acrylic is cheap and comes in tons of colors. if you have any more questions you can also ask me. hope that helps

2 or 3 months? Jesus. I had 16's and then put 14's, and they slid right in and were lose, so i wore them for like 5 days and put 12's in yesterday. I've had my ears pierced for a couple years now though.
Oh, and the 12's slid right in to.

yeah it is all a matter of a persons certain situation. I had my ears pierced since I was 2 and I put 14s in and 12s the next week. It doesn't really matter now, its more when you get into the bigger things. You are mainly trying to avoid a blowout, which is where the inside of your ear basically comes out the back in a tube of flesh. which sounds gross and is gross. that causes scarring and the skin can never shrink back again and its hard to stretch bigger. I have been stretching for 4 years and I am happy at my 1/2 inch. which I have had for more than a year. I went a little fast but my ears never encountered a problem.

Alrighty, well I only plan on going down to a 6, so hopefully that won't take too long. The only place I can think of that sells the studs is Hot Topic, do you know of the prices there, or any other place?
I buy most of my jewelry online because it ends up being cheaper. I don't know how much a pair is at hot topic but I usually pay like $12 for a pair of acrylic ones. Try www.bodyartforms.com, bmezine.com(i don't have a link for their store). those are if you don't mind buying stuff online. or go to the local piercing shop they will probably have a lot of stuff.

Don't go beyond a 00. That's the biggest basically anyone can go and be able to shrink back, but like someone said, everyone's body is different. Just find what you like most. I don't like gauges, but smaller ones actually can look good.

Yeah, I know it sounds like a long time, but everyone I know that hasn't had problems (no blowouts or anything) did it in like 2 mo intervals, and tried not to skip gauges.
I mean, it will be totally different for each person, but that Roxy girl knows her shit when it comes to this.

I only know this stuff because I have been doing it for 4 years, and besides my stretched ears I have 13 other piercings. I really like piercings and I hate when I see people not take care of them and just let them get disgusting. I learned everything I know by doing my own research, www.tribalectic.com is an awesome website for any information regarding piercings.

I know some kids who have blown out their ears. It sucks. Haha. Skipping is so bad, but sometimes you can pull it off.
I had one friend who had a blowout and so he left his gauge out for a while and it shrunk like all the way back to a ten and his other was around a 0 almost.
Yeah. 6 isn't that big. And like you, I don't like the big ones, but I do like the smaller ones.
My girlfriend has really cool ones. She went to 7/16s, which is one over 00. So she barely fucked herself. So when hers shrunk fully, they were 8s and she decided it looks better to just have a gauge in there than to not. She has these ones that look like a bolt or something. I don't know, they're cool is all.

Now that is just gross. I don't see how people can do that.

I've never skipped gauges, and don't plan on it either. I had 14's in like 4 months ago, and it hurt like a bitch, cause I just went from regular to 14's. So I took them out and just wore regular earrings from the next 4 months, and didn't even think about gauging them, then I put the 14's like a week and a half ago, and they slid in with no problem. Then I bought 12's yesterday and they slid in real easy and don't hurt at all. So I'll probably wait like a week or 2 and go to 10's.

Yeah, you just have to remember to be patient. Like Roxy said, blowouts are nasty and they suck. But also be careful with the gauges you buy. I forgot, but some of them are bad. I think you can ask people at Hot Topic about it or anyone who looks like they know about gauges.
Haha, now I kind of wish I would have gauged my ears a bit. Maybe I will.

I know. I'm working my way down to getting the nucleus gauged. Then, I'll move on to single sections of a DNA strand. Finally, God-willing, I'll reach my ultimate goal of gauging an electron.

its gauging
the only thing about hot topic is their metal jewelry isn't trustworthy. its not real stainless steel and if you have an allergy it can be really serious. Hot topic has good prices when stuff goes onto clearance, even if its ugly you aren't going to be wearing them forever so i suggest getting them then. i know this isn't that sanitary but if you clean it and it comes from someone you know, just use someone elses. I had no use for 8 gauge plugs when my ears are at 1/2 inch. and i gave all my old plugs to this kid and then he passed them on as well. i know it seems gross but if you properly sanitize them and it comes from a non shady person you should be fine.
also on a side note if you wear plugs with o-rings instead of flares you can develop a rubber allergy. i can't wear o rings anymore without my ears swelling up. i suggest double flares if you can find them.
Tyler Revolution
09/30/05, 12:59 PM
Not too sure what Orings or double flares are. I'll google it.
o-rings are the black rings that go on the front and back of the plug to keep it in place. if you have flared plugs then it is the bigger on one or both the ends. like a 6 gauge plug would have 4 gauge flares. right now you probably have cbrs, a ring with a bead or a horseshoe, which is what it sounds like. it looks like a horshoe with balls on the ends.
Tyler Revolution
09/30/05, 01:15 PM
I want flares then. Are they hard to get through?
Umm it just matters how stretchable your ears are. Also at 6 and above you arent really going to find double gauges mostly single flare. so the front will look flared and the back will have the oring
