(one of my favorite poems I've written.)
watch the sunburn peel and flake
dead skin like a corpse of fatal mistake
fresh red leather is seen underneath
sun reflect's brighter off smoke-free teeth
perfect and perfectly raw you grin
damaged enough to hide no more sin
except for that smile all clean and bright
like a hen in a fox's stomach, realized in hindsight
that foxes and boys will err in their ways
but will hide behind 32 pearly white lies all their days
watch the sunburn peel and flake
dead skin like a corpse of fatal mistake
fresh red leather is seen underneath
sun reflect's brighter off smoke-free teeth
perfect and perfectly raw you grin
damaged enough to hide no more sin
except for that smile all clean and bright
like a hen in a fox's stomach, realized in hindsight
that foxes and boys will err in their ways
but will hide behind 32 pearly white lies all their days
