Madea Gose to Jail made $41.1 million. I really just cannot understand who would see this film (aside from the obvious demo). Films like this should not continue to be produced. Tyler Perry is a one-trick pony.

Same argument can be made for why is country music one of the biggest selling genres/albums.. just the way it goes. Tyler Perry is making unbelievable bank. Opened his own studio in Atlanta.. already have tons of episodes of House of Payne already filmed. He has total creative control. I say good for this guy.

Unreal. The Tyler Perry "brand" is just like the Judd Apatow "brand." Almost anything these guys attach their name too now is gonna do well. Of course, Judd doesn't always hit one out of the park ie Drillbit Taylor. How old is Tyler Perry? I wonder what kind of house he has or if he has a bangin' wife or gf.

What alarms me more is that movies like Disaster Movie and or Superhero Movie and or Meet The Spartans leading the box office in a week. Although I am somewhat shocked this movie made 41 mil.

i don't understand why people continue to get upset by his success. you're not his target demographic. these films aren't made to please you.

but, there is a large portion of people who obviously are pleased by them. he remains a tremendous success consistently for a reason.

i've never seen anything he's done, and don't intend to, but i have great respect for what he's accomplished. dude's gotten where he is on his talent, and that i can admire. doesn't mean i'm gonna be a fan, but i don't understand the need to get upset or complain about the success he's earned.

I have no real problem with him, unlike say Larry the Cable Guy or Carlos Mencia he seems pretty true to himself- not like he's a crazy grandma but you get my gist
