My Concert Review


Alright so I went to the Mewithoutyou, Dredg, and Blood Brothers concert.

I was very surprised to see that Mewithoutyou opened because I think they are an overall better band then Dredg and they bring more intensity to the stage. But Aaron did what he does and dominated fiercely, about halfway threw the set he stopped and gave the crowd some bread he found in the dumpster. He didn’t tell anyone that until the song after. But they played a great set for only get a half hour. This final detail is truly the only thing you need to know to understand Mewithoutyou’s live show: their energy is only exceeded by their insanity.


Dredg was weak. Very weak.

The Blood Brothers

The Blood Brothers were amazing. They picked up the intensity were Mewithoutyou left it. There was one thing that bothered me though, half way through the set one of their singers said these exact words “thanks for coming out, this is going to be our last tour for a long time” that worries me as a blood brothers fan. Also people were being huge jerks to the blood brothers, they were booing and just being overall crappy people.

I left hoping they played a horrible set.

I keep hearing that Coheed is a horrible live band. I've only seen then one time and they were AMAZING.

in all fiarness, it was shortly after Second Stage Turbine came out in athens at the 40 Watt with/ Against Me!, Thrice, and Hot Water Music . . . . . . fucking amazing show.

Coheed was awesome when I saw them, too, until Claudio fell over drunk in the middle of a song, taking out half the drumset and stopped playing. The rest of the band continued, though.

I've seen Coheed three times. First time, they were meh. Second time they were AWESOME (really small venue) and the third time it was at a festival and they were above average.

Catch Without Arms is the easiest cd by them to get into. It's really good stuff. Their other releases are great, but CWA will be the easiest to listen to first.

I can't compare them to anybody. It's hard to. I guess Tool, The Mars Volta (not Frances), and Incubus could be similiar, but they dont really sound like any of them.

I guess I would say Mars Volta soundscapes meet Incubus rock with a twist of fsejhkw.
