Linkin Park - Songs From the Underground
Record Label: Warner Bros.
Release Date: November 28, 2008

Linkin Park seems to have one of the most active fanclubs I've seen in a band. The "underground" as it's called seems to get sneak peeks at songs and is just filled with perks that many fanclubs lack. So my advice to Linkin Park fans is: join the undergound, but pass on Songs From the Underground.

Songs From the Underground is full of complete duds. "Qwerty" should have stayed a b-side, and the same goes for the two following tracks. There's a reason these didn't make the cut, and I was actually extremely surprised how much the quality of these songs differed from that of their final cuts. "Dedicated," the best track from the whole collection, is actually a demo from back in 1999. The two live tracks don't help anything either, and while "My December" is one of my favorite LP tracks, it's as flat as any live recording I've heard.

I'm not just slinging hate here, I'm actually quite the Linkin Park fan. This collection, in it's entirety, just seems completely superfluous. If you're a huge enough fan of them to want these songs in the first place, there's a pretty good chance you're already part of the underground, and that's exactly where this album should have stayed.

You could have saved a bit of length by making this one a once over. But good review either way - I like the last jab.

I used to listen to Linkin Park when I was twelve, and I was a member of the underground,
Not worth it.

It's not really an EP though, so I didn't really know if I should. Either way.. It works. haha. Thanks for the suggestion though.
