I voted Flogging Molly, but i'm sad to see that the Pogues havent gotten any love so far, i mean cause Flogging Molly would at least not exsist as they do without them to a certain degree, maybe more

its like everyone probably loves the Blink more than the Decendants, Jimmy Eat World than Christie Front Drive, and so on, I mean yeah they're the bands that took what had come before them and made something great, but I mean yeah, show them some love lol

i really should be chosing The Pogues but i just love Flogging Molly so frickin' much...

Well I fell into prison about a quarter till three
Where I found in my cell a glass waiting for me
So I filled what was empty and I pulled up a stool
But he stood in the corner, the old devil wouldn't move
He said, "You drink when you're lonely." No I drink when I want!
He said, "You'll never be sober." Sure. Why would I want that?
I only drink to be merry but unfortunately
I'm in the wrong prison cell and the wrong company!

lol, I didn't put much thought into my avatar. I liked this one better than the countless simple plan & blink 182 ones that came up. While i like Flogging Molly, they aren't my favorite Irish band, and I'll probably get around to changing my avatar.

Oh, and Dropkick Murphy's all the way.

God, no real Irish bands...? Only Paddy's Day Irish bands...?

Bell X1, , Duke Special, Fionn Regan, The Coronas, Future Kings Of Spain, the Chakras...

If you're into the pop-punk/emo side of things, there's always, Ash, The Blizzards, Steer Clear (now defunct, thank God), Home Star Runner, The Shower Scene...but if you go to any major emo gigs in Ireland, chances are you've seen at least two of them play. Ash are by far the best, truly legendary. The Blizzards are an excellent band if you're looking for some fresh pop-punk talent in the vein of Blink-182, et al, while the others are really for your emo fan, because they're horribly generic...

You really can't ignore true legends like U2, Snow Patrol, etc.

Every "band"in bold i shit.God awfully shit. The Blizzards are NOTHING like blink or pop-punk at all.Ash are shit. Nothing you listed has anything to do with "emo" Why bring up Steer Clear if your listing"good"Irish" bands and then say "thank god" that they broke up?

I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about what so ever.

Thank you for completely owning that girl. I felt like it needed to be done but I don't live in Ireland and haven't heard any of those bands.

There are so many better Irish artists than this: Damien Rice, The Frames, The Swell Season. And what list of Irish bands is complete without U2?

No problem at all. I couldn't let something like that go past me.It was such a poor representation of Irish music.

I never stated that I like any of those bands, the only bands that I like from that list are Ash and the Blizzards. I only reccomended them as bands that you may like if you enjoy any form of pop-punk. Personally, I like Duke Special, Bell X1 or Future Kings of Spain, none of those bands. The Blizzards are definitely pop-punk, ever picked up an album of theirs? There's no doubt about it. And hey, I like Snow Patrol, are you honestly attempting to find fault in what I say by picking apart my music taste?!

MickShamrock
03/31/09, 04:03 PM
The Pogues! Most of the bands listed wouldn't exist without their influence.
