The fact is that politics and government do not begin and end with a single person. And especially with the president. And the idea of "just deal with it" is absolutely absurd. Suppose I don't like what my government is doing? Well we have this wonderful thing called the political process in which any citizen gets the right to be heard. If I don't like something Bush is doing, I can call my senator or representative and let them know. Sure, one person isn't huge, but it's greater than nothing and that's what is important. And when you have the ability for your voice to be heard, people can form a collective and make an even bigger impact. And there are much more important issues which happen in everyone's city and county which they have the ability to be even more vocal about. The concept of voting someone into office under specific conditions and then letting them do whatever they want and "dealing with it" is ridiculous, end of story.
