Sweet Revenge, Bruised Orange, In Spite Of Ourselves, Fair & Square, and The Missing Years are all solid. Other albums are hit or miss.

More or less yeah. In Spite Of Ourselves is great.

If Emmylou or Lucinda Williams are involved, it should be quality. Sorry M. Ward.

Hah, it's true. I made an "Emmylou" playlist including "Oh My Sweet Carolina", "Return of the Grievous Angel", "Nothin' Without You" and "I Know One". The only thing I can say I don't like about her is how odd she looks when she performs. She just stares, ha. But whatever, she's got a great voice.

Ha, it is unsettling at times. Favorite Emmylou album?

I'm not too familiar with any whole album; I've just got numerous tracks from various stuff. Most of it's from Elite Hotel and Gliding Bird. I'm planning on getting ahold of a full album sometime soon though. I believe my mom's got a few of her albums on vinyl, might look into that.

She released a good album last year actually, might be a nice place to start. If you'd rather delve further back in her catalog, I'd suggest Pieces Of The Sky or Roses In The Snow. Two classics.

Cool deal, I'll look into those.

sweet, soothing, contemplative & cheerful. i'm a fan of this mans music, greatly enjoy the albums vinh mentioned, except i haven't heard bruised orange & didn't take to far & square at all for some reason. the live version of "angel from montgomery" he did with the wonderful bonnie raitt is really good too. oh how i love bonnie raitt... haha

Haha to be honest I've never been much for Bonnie Raitt. She's def a talented lady but I dunno...just haven't been able to really get into her tunes.
Anyway, agreed on Prine. soothing, cheerful music. good stuff.

i'm a big bonnie fan, she's written some great songs, & it's seldom the tunes she's actually known for. although when i was first learning the guitar & heard "black velvet" for the first time, i thought to myself "i'm going to become the male version of her voice" haha. i'm kidding... well sort of... but anyway, she has recorded some very strong albums over the years & her collaborations with many of the worlds greatest musicians (b.b. king, buddy guy, ray charles, jackson browne, stevie ray vaughn & countless others) are just so awesome
i only got into prine... not all that long ago. it took a while because whenever i was in the mood for his stream of folk music i found myself turning to bruce cockburn instead (which was recc'd to me on ap by foreverdelayed), but i'm glad it all eventually clicked

Her collaborations (the ones ive heard anyway) are def good, so maybe she'll click with me eventually. I've got an album of hers lying around somewhere, I might go back and give it another shot.
that's cool. I just recently really got into him as well. I always had a good amount of his stuff that I got from my uncle, but it wasn't until a couple months ago that I really got into it all.

Bonnie Raitt gets a bad rap I find. She's not amazing, but there are quality tunes in her catalog.

For a long time, "Something To Talk About" was the only song of hers I knew, and I was never a fan of that one for whatever reason. I think that kind of put me off from checking her out much.

I dont know if anybody else cares about this, but i think it could be great.

the self titled album is easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Not a bad song anywhere on it.

I like him but I don't listen to him enough. The S/T is really good.

S/T is his best I think, but eveybody should here Bruised Orange and Sweet Revenge too. All three are solid front to back. I honestly probably listen to John Prine more than I do anybody else. I always seem to go back to him.
