I'll definitely be checking out all of these that I've missed.
Though I cannot believe that Deja Entendu didn't make the list.

Blink 182 isn't the most influential pop-punk band of all time.
Ok.

Ever album on the list is better than any TBS or Fallout Boy
What I meant to say was that I expected Deja Entendu or Take This To Your Grave on that list, since we all know how Jason Tate loves both of those bands.

for the most part this list is missing a lot of influential records for most of the bands on this site. In extremly dissapointed. Read Mark Hoppuss's blog about this.

i haven't really checked many of these out yet.. so i will give it a listen! Sticks and stones by NFG should be on the list for sure though..

Not enough pop punk on there to pleasure me.

And no FOB or BN on there? Did Tate not have a say in this list?
He picked an album for the list. It wasn't Brand New or Fall Out Boy, obviously.

Well, I own 6/15.

02/24/09, 12:29 PM
I would take away a few of these and add some others.

I would seriously put 'Leaving Through The Window' up there. My all time favorite record.
Ive got to agree with this dude. Something Corporates Leaving through the Window could be there....

ohh right, the blue album by weezer. The one that is both blue and features the picture of the band weezer. Sounded kinda familiar, but thanks for clarifying with the picture...
glad i could help

02/24/09, 04:51 PM
i'm probably the only one that thinks dude ranch is over-rated...i would consider enema of the state a classic over dude ranch any day, but i do understand that dude ranch started their whole popularity...deja entendu has to be on this...tell all your friends is a more recent classic, and i'm surprised fall out boy wasn't thrown in on here...overall, a pretty interesting selection for absolutePUNK.net...

Julia Conny
02/24/09, 05:08 PM
Which ones did you imput?

None. I just compiled the feature and wrote a blurb that didn't get finished in time.

If I did have to pick something by them, it would have been that album. I told Eric he made a solid pick, and I hope people who've never heard of them check it our.

Big_Guy
02/24/09, 09:11 PM
thank you for including Todays Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes. I'm sure 90% of the readers don't even know who Propagandhi is, but that is truly a genre defining release.

I really like the list, but hate reading through comments of people bitching. If you don't think the staff realized there are differing opinions, please just leave. That being said, I look forward to Absolute Classics Vol. 2.

Note: May have been linked already, but read Anton's blog (http://www.absolutepunk.net/journal.php?do=showentry&e=143302) for a very good recap and explanation of this thread.

I'd like to see what these bands would choose as 15 of thier "classic albums". Scene be damned.

It's a crime not to include Jimmy Eat World's Clarity

stuntmaniac
02/26/09, 08:24 AM
Wheres Brand New - Deja Entendu lol

SJPrice99
02/26/09, 09:24 AM
without Green Day - Dookie, it is very doubtful any of these albums would exist (minus the clash of course, cuz without them there would be no green day)

haha, maybe we're both old as fuck, but about half your albums are my all-time favs.

Dookie was my first cd I think ever. I'm really surpirsed the Saves the Day, New Found Glory, or Taking Back Sunday albums you mentioned weren't on here. I think Alkaline Trio's Goddammit would've fit nice and snug with all of those, too. All your picks are literally taken out of my CD case via freshman/sophomore year of high school. Mad props, bro.

02/26/09, 02:11 PM
Refused's Shape of Punk to Come?... great list though.

Absolutely agree.

Badgers08
02/27/09, 08:54 AM
The Clash's London Calling is just an album I cannot get into. I've tried listening to it many times, but just get bored with it for some reason. I appreciate the album for what it did for this "scene", but it just is not my cup of tea.

I realize most of these have been suggested, but aside from Clarity I would personally add The Get Up Kids' Something to Write Home About, Jawbreaker's Dear You, The Ataris' Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits, Fugazi's Repeater, Pennywise's Unknown Road, NOFX's Punk In Drublic, American Football's Self-Titled and Refused's The Shape of Punk To Come ... among others.

nah. domestica was by far tim kashers more enjoyable concept album. it was just raw and unproduced.
