Fall Out Boy is playing a FREE, yes, FREE 18+ show this Thursday night in Germantown, Maryland.
DC101's annual Shantytown music/drinking/camping festival, featuring musical guests FALL OUT BOY, was moved at the last minute from Nissan Pavillion in northern Virginia to a field off Blackrock road in Germantown. Here's a link to the official site:
http://www.dc101.com/pages/shantytown05.html
Normally I wouldn't care, but I live in Germantown and the show is literally two minutes from my house. I figured everyone in the DC area would want to hear about this, if they hadn't already.

Here's my opinion: Pete Wentz slept with Carson Daly to have Fall Out Boy be put on TRL. In the end, Carson really just tricked Pete because he knew 13 year old girls would easily vote them in. 13 yr old girls win. Carson wins. Pete has a painful rectum.
so when are pete wentz and brandon flowers meeting up to kiss each other on the cheek?

All I'm sick of is people who used to like Fall Out Boy acting like they don't anymore... Or people who disown bands once they get big for that matter. I still listen to them and I still like them. Don't really care for FUTCT too much but meh... oh well.
Edit: Oh and I'm really just happy that Spin is starting to get some actual decent taste in music... must have gotten new writers or something. Their top 100 bands in the past 20 years was actually a lot better than I had previously anticipated.

Did they pay us back when they only had a 5 song demo recorded and no record label too? Just curious, you know, because you're full of shit.

Just because a band is on TRL, doesnt mean they suck.
Pete isn't gay, as the rumor mill has churned out many times
"dude, hes gay, that means they suck," congraulations, youre an idiot
Banks have wall of fames too
If this interview sucks, it's because SPIN will try and throw in some obscure reference to Morrissey or the pixies. If it ain't indie, it aint in SPIN
Carson fucked Fred Durst, duh
Thank you,

Awesome. But they'll still be playing in DC at 6pm....who else is playing? I would like to go only because it's 18 and up, I can't even begin to imagine what the show at 930 Club on Thursday is gonna be like. Oh wait, I can, tons of 14 year olds.

Don't forget his uncanny ability to recruit underage girls and talk to the press and "scream" at the oddest times during live performances in return for them letting him turn up his bass so everyone can hear him even if it means making all the speakers crackle... ok i'm done

I love FOB and also dislike Pete, i do believe he would be in the band if he was a fat bassist, he writes the songs but every time i see them live Pete gets a bigger and bigger ego.
Everytime Pete would do something on the stage the girls would scream like they were at a New Kids on the Block concert.
I doubt any bands PAY ap.net for exposure except maybe for adds that keep the site running (i'm not sure just speculation.)
It's obvious the staff plays favorites, but to be fair they have news on almost any bands that have any recognition with some sort of lose affiliation with Punk ska emo etc.
I just wish Jason Tate would stop telling me that "if i like music i NEED TO OWN this album"

Pete is the band. If he could sing and play drums and guitar... he would. Those guys are only there because they have to be.

All I have to say is...
"Sleeping in and sleeping for WRONG TEAM..."
and the lyrics used to be
"watching you two from the closet wishing to be the friction in HIS jeans..."
and for the record... he's never denied any homosexual tendencies. Let's wait for some facts shall we?

they make their set into a two part acts...
the first act they had on griffindor school boy outfits, ties, sweaters, blazers that type of thing
the second act they came out in clandestine apparel...
so i guess you can say there is a break for a wardrobe change but it was kinda different cuz they changed andys drums and the background and everything for the second one. kinda like making it two shorter concerts.... i dunno. it was kinda lame but at the same time they did it in the least amount of lameness they could. if that makes any sense haha

I've seen them 8 times... and them improving isn't saying much lol. Ah but they were still so much fun live! They used to make up for shitty playing with their energy... but lately they've been losing a step or two but I'm glad to hear something positive about them lately. I've stopped going to their shows after seeing them at warped tour. I've lost interest personally... it's not a mainstream thing. It's just a conflict in interest.

it seriously makes me want to cry when people give up on bands because of a warped tour performance...
i hate warped tour. i think i go cuz im afraid if i dont, i might miss something cool. then i get there and watch all these bands who are so tired from the tour and they are hot and have the least amount of energy needed to perform and i walk away disappointed i just witnessed it.
seriously, go see the nintendo fusion tour...give fall out boy one more chance. i cant tell you what exactly it was about this show that made me all super excited and satisfied that i spent a week this summer following warped tour for this band and that ive spent more money going to shows for this band than i have any other band i love.
this was my 9th time seeing them but it will be the one ill remember the longest. old songs, new songs, the guys seemed like they wanted to be up there on the stage, the feeling of seeing them in the metro in december to the aragon in september...it was just a good show
i cant wait to see it again in november and i hope to god its just as good of a show
