The Bulls traded Eddie Curry to the Knicks tonight. I think the Knicks have a shot at the playoffs now.

hm, lets see. this trade can go either way, if curry lives up to his potential that people in the past have raved about, and is healthy...the knicks stole this one from the bulls. BUT, if he proves to in fact have heart problems, the bulls got this one locked down. jermaine jackson isn't worth a damn and probably will be cut. tim thomas is a good role player, he'll get the bulls at leat 14 a night if he plays enough, sweetney has huge potential, kid was a beast his last year in college, he needs to toughen up a bit though before he turns into the next oliver miller.
curry has alot of upside, he's only 22, he's 7 foot tall and he can score. but being 7 foot tall...he should be able to pull down more than five boards per game. i think larry brown could be a big motivator for curry, brown's won on every level, and i think he knows how to communicate well with players(except those with the last name iverson). antonio davis means nothing, had a few good years with the pacers, but his career is over and the knicks got a good expiring contract out of him.
so here's what the knicks lineup should look like for the year.
C: curry/james/frye
pf: taylor/rose/lee
sf: richardson/ariza
sg: crawford/houston/hardaway
pg: marbury/nate rob
looks good on paper...but when november rolls around, we'll see what happens. on a sidenote, i feel bad for penny hardaway, dude had serious potential to be a HOF'er, but injuries screwed him over. he'll probably never avg more than 10 ppg ever again. i feel bad for the knicks as well having to pay that ridiculous contract and getting nothing in return, same with houston.
as for the bulls, their lineup looks like this:
c: chandler/harrington
pf: sweetney/songaila/allen
sf: deng/nocioni/thomas
sg: gordon/basden/piatowski
pg: hinrich/duhon/pargo
i think nocioni and thomas will be fighting for the backup spot at sf. i think thomas maybe more offensively sound...but andres may edge him out, he was kinda streaky last season, but i cant forget in the first round of the playoffs when he dropped 25 pts and 18 boards on the wizards. i think they have pretty good rotation, the only weak spot being at the sg.
i dont really know who to say is the winner of this trade yet, ill make my decision in febuary and see if curry's stayed healthy.

what a tough spot for Curry and the Bulls. I can see both sides to all that conflict. However when it boils down to it, I go with the Bulls. If they're going to fork over that much money for Curry to play, they should be able to take a DNA test if they wanted to. But i understand why Curry would have been hesitant.

The Knicks are so screwed for the coming years. This is probably going to be their last even mediocre year if that before they become like the Clippers of the 90s. Check out their salary. And not using the mid-level exception on Houston? They're nuts. At least they still have Penny Hardaway.

i have to agree with that. I mean, Curry's a solid player, but to be honest with how much has been going on with the health thing im starting to doubt him myself. Sweetney had so much upside, he was gunna finally be a force if they gave him the minutes.

oh man...when i saw the ticker go by on espn that they traded tim thomas I got so happy...Then I saw they gave up sweetney also and only got back curry (and antonio davis) I got sad. Curry only averages like 5.5 rebounds a game. How can a center do that? So what if he scores 16 a game...Knicks were better off if they kept nazy

Mohammed's pretty solid, i like him alot. I think Curry's rebound production was hurt by Chandler, but Chandler didnt score as much so it was kinda a trade off.

You just gotta hope Larry can motivate him (if he can even play) to play more aggressively.
As a Knicks fan, I'd be content with a playoff birth this season. I'd love to see them be competitive in the East, but I just think the top four in the East are fat too good for them to handle.
