Breaking up The Libertines was a lot harder on Carl Barat than many might have guessed, but he's getting set to rally with a new outfit.
Barat dissolved The Libertines in January after band mate Pete Doherty didn't meet a deadline to get off drugs. Now, nine months after dissolving his band and completing surgery to remove a tumor, Barat's regaining his spirits with his new band.
As previously reported, Barat's formed a new outfit with former members of The Libertines and The Cooper Temple Clause. Returning to music, although a long process has left the rocker rejuvenated.
“As you may have realized, this last year has taken me beyond any emotion or sensation I have chanced upon,” he posted in a web update on the Libertines’ site. “It has been trying, to say the least, but I am verging on happy, to say the sun has risen some more. I really thought I was done in.”
