We all know about this tour. I couldn't find a thread already dedicated to it.
The first show is tonight. The whole tour is sold out. Anyone going please review the shows.
I'll be going on Thursday at the House of Blues in Boston, MA.

im sorry, i forgot to mention that this was the NYC show at Terminal 5
JEW was spot-on the entire night.. couldn't have asked for more out of them, they played about 20 songs incredibly. Reubens Accomplice was bland.. for $40/ticket, one more opener would've been nice.

$40 does seem excessive, but I feel like the crowd would have been bored to tears if there was another opener. People were there to just see Clarity in its entirety, they couldn't give a shit about openers.
Tonight's show was awesome. I wish they would play more of these songs at their shows.

i thought reuben's accomplice was okay. their drummer was solid. lots of tremolo and volume swells on guitar. one dude yelled "JIMMY EAT WORLD" from the balcony in between songs.
that setlist above was correct. clarity all the way through, two b-sides from that time period and then a couple more recent singles.
i thought the line would be a lot longer though cause we got there at 5 (doors opened at 7) and there were only like 10 kids in line, if that.
i was standing in the front row the whole show so it was quite an experience. jim mentioned during the show that clarity was released ten years ago tonight, so that was crazy.
i'm interested to see if the set changes at all at the other shows.

Did they play to backing tracks. Did they have extra musicians cover some of the extra parts from Clarity, or does the core bands cover those parts themselves?
WFUJerseyJon
02/24/09, 10:22 AM
There were some backing tracks and no other performers other than Jim, Rick, Tom, and Zach.

I was joking. That's why I said "I wish... the encore was the same."
However, if they did play it all the way through, I would say they would be on the stage for around 2 hours. The only time I've seen a set that long I think is with Radiohead.

And i totally agree with you i remember Rick grinning from ear to ear the entire night and Tom looked like he was having the time of his life on blister. I am convinced they were as excited to perform as we were to watch.

Well they did fund Bleed American with the money they made off of touring on Clarity. So it is related!!

Sorry to the guys for asking the tougher questions, hahaha. It might have been a smidge awkward for a bit there, but it was an awesome experience and the guys were all wicked humble and nice to me. Thanks again for the interview, shirt and vinyl, dudes! And like I said, I was absolutely front and center for the show. Easily one of the best I've ever been to.
haha, a little awkward indeed. definitely too many difficult questions.

I still think they were really good questions, haha. And I still loved every second of that interview.
I won the interview through a contest a radio station did. You submitted five questions you'd want to ask the band, and whoever submitted the best ones got to interview the band. Apparently mine were the best!

ha, i wouldn't really call any of those questions difficult.
I just tried to pick some that maybe they never had been asked before (sans the touring one, maybe the must-have album one too), because I'm sure it gets tiring hearing the same questions over and over. But it was my first interview with a band, so I guess it's okay that it didn't go as smooth as it should've, haha.

Yeah, good interview. I think they enjoyed being asked tough questions. Kind of awkward at the beginning, but it seems like it got more comfortable after that.
