good pop/rock..marketable at least.

the girl has a nice voice, but at times it is a bit over the top and almost overpowering/abrasive with the music.

I agree with this completely. I feel it's a tad cheesy too. But, I'm sure it would be successful if it was marketed right.

poppy. I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics, but they are catchy. The chorus for "For Goodness Sake" is a little corney, seems like it's been done before. In "Walking Backwards" the vocals switch to a male member for most of the song, interesting change. What I'm noticing is that these songs seem like they were written for a theater production. They are not untalented, I'm just not sure about the song writing. They may find success in TV and film soundtracks. I wonder how their live show is.

I think it's marketable. Female vocal comparisons can definitely be drawn between them and Paramore, and with "Walking Backwards" the Straylight comparisons are inevitable.

I don't particularly like it, I think it's contrived, but I can see how people would find it listenable.

Saw an show of theirs earlier last year...not too bad. If you like girly poppy music, it might be your thing, although her range isn't quite as good as the girl's from Paramore, or from Eisley. She is super attractive though, and has really good stage presence. All the members could be models of some sort...so yeah, definately marketable.

ill agree with eisley slade, but throw in rilo kiley on the side.

im gonna go ahead and im pull the sex card and say that women just dont have the longevity to contnually produce enjoyable music in alternative rock. I mean sleater-kinney have been doing it for a while but their fan base is almost strictly seattle area lesbians. (im a horrible person) Yeah so we should all just listen to Aretha.

first song is wayyy too cheesy. Sounds like a Disney song or something

EDIT
but dang that girl is super hot

she really over sings on the 30 seconds that i gave it before i had to turn it off.....but the girl is pretty hot so i mean im sure some label will milk that for all its worth.

theyve been on the top 100 unsigned list on purevolume for a little while now. this week or last week (too lazy to check) they were on the PurePicks section as well. The girl has looks, the demo quality isn't the hottest, the songs are decent as are their voices. Overall - with the right producer it could turn out really good, but that would go both ways.

Ettison Clio still holds it in my book.

they used to be called something else, didn't they? i can't remember what, though. i've seen them play a bunch of times in the past few years around MA and i remain very unimpressed.

i just think this band got brought up on the wrong site man. seriously. when it comes down to it, it may not be your thing, but you can't really deny straight up catchy songs. like em or not...you're not going get those damn songs out of your head. and that says something.

aside from that solid dudes. i dig getting drunk with them and playing shows.

While the posted studio recordings may not turn you on to these guys, see them once live and you'll be hooked. They have great stage presence (i miss the cheesy synchronized dancing of Incident14 though) and they sound even better live. What turned me on is their most-amazing live cover of Cheap Trick's I Want You To Want Me. Letters to Cleo doesnt hold a candle to these guys. And yes they're all beautiful people, that never hurts. All-in-all, don't knock it til you've seen it live. Everyone loves the H-Bomb!!

i am a high powered music executive and i think this band blows diana ross out of the water, and the supremes, and all of those people, you know i am selective though with my male lead singers, personally i like jim morison better, but i'd do him anyway,
good band

I think my sister when she heard the first 2 seconds of it says it best "Oh that is annoying!" So kiddie pop it is not funny, welcome to Radio Disney. If someone signs them, I really hope they can market them to the teenie and preteen audience! Remember Aqua and damn can't remember another groups name, but they had a show on tv and they were a young group, damn oh well. Oh and if you do sign them, send them to Top 40 and pay a crap load of money to get them played. I see at least 30K cd's sold even though I don't know if i could put up with listening to them on the radio. Oh and do re me fa so la ti do, that is how u get to do....doesn't it sort of sound like the sound of music when you hear it, HAHA.:booze:

I'll bet that the same people who are picking on this band got picked on in high school.
Sure, the music is poppy,
but it's some of the best pop out there.
OntheSurface is one of the best live bands out there.
The male/female lead dynamic comes across well, and even better
on stage.

Plus...I'd do the drummer.

I think they're awesome. Young and Talented, sure to use their catchy songs and marketing potential to woo the crowd into loving them. Insert typical "plus they're all hot" tag line hear. Yeah, so what they're all hot. Close your eyes, and you'll still be dancing in no time.

ugh female lead singers are not my thing...sorryYeah, I'm pretty selective with mine. i like Eisley, Mon Frere, Zolof, and....that's about it.You are exactly the kind of people who make up your mind about something before you try it. You've cut yourself off from a world of music that has just as much talent as male-fronted bands. It's like saying you don't like broccoli when you were a kid based on the fact that it's a vegetable, and when you grow up you find out you've been missing out the whole time because it's wicked good.

Which this band is. If you would take your retarded girl-singer filters off your ears and actually give them a listen, you would at least admit they have talent. And while they're not another clone copy of a band that sounds like every other emo band out there, they can appeal to a much larger audience than people on this site are giving them credit for. I've seen this band live. People who like catchy music and who like to have fun at shows will adore this band.

Holy lord dude, you need to learn to handle other people's opinions. Don't fucking insult me like that, I found that chorus annoying as shit, and I don't care if you're friends with the band...I said they're marketable, I said people will enjoy them, it's just not my thing. I listened without bias, just chill.

Here's a list of reasons why I hate Anthony, the lead singer of this horrible excuse for a band:

- He never cleans up after himself
- He sleeps all day
- He never showers
- He eats everyone else's food
- He disassembled my smoke alarm and "tried to fix it" after
- He uses too much toilet paper
- He is always on his stupid cellphone
- Him and his stupid girlfriend are always singing loudly, thereby waking me up at ungodly hours of the morning
- He thinks he knows a lot about drinking wine, but he really doesn't
- That goddamn rug of his is still rolled up in the hallway
- He works at Express
- He blows his nose like a retard
- And worst of all, he's left-handed

If his band ever happens to get famous and release an album, DO NOT under any circumstances buy it. You will be doing yourself and the world a favor.

Thank you for your time.
