After two weeks of voting by the public, four of the original ten finalists in the Takeover Records (http://www.takeoverrecords.com/) “Sign My Band” contest have been eliminated. The six remaining bands still competing for a record deal with Takeover are:

The Real You
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Hit Machine
A Better Fall
Monty
The Fad

Let me put it this way, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is a local band here in jacksonville. How the hell anyone likes them baffles me. They are just like any emo band out there with cheesy lyrics and a collection of octaves. There is nothing more to them

strikefirefall has done A LOT since they won. just because someone isn't constantly in the public eye, doesnt mean nothig is going on behind the scenes.

some of the bands in the contest this year, like last year, have already done a lot to establish themselves in the "scene". look at a band like monty. they played all of warped tour this year, and i don't know about every date but they wowed everyone at mine.

I am pretty sure monty is signed. They were on the ernie ball stage at warped. They used to be Monty's Fan Club.

The real you, Red Jumpsuit and Monty are the only bands I've heard of.

I've seen the real you a few times in concert since they are from SD, they put on a great show. Real nice guys too.

I voted for 'A Better Fall'. In spite of the bad quality, I thought these guys had the most potential.

It was close though, Monty were really cool and so were the real you. The fad was good until the song got repetitive and as for Hit Machine - lose the silly vocal effects and we'll talk.

I gotta stick with my boys the Fad...they went through so much to get to where they are (line up changes, being taken to the People's Court) and the fact that they are still going is a good thing. Also, Doyle is a mad man and a great frontman.

If I was a band in this contest and made it this far, then I would pat myself on the back, then get everyone I know to start voting for Monty...cause they rock the shit out of everything else on the list there, don'tcha know...
