Civet
The Creepshow
Avengers
Tilt (my favorite of the bunch)
Mad Marge and the Stonecutters
New Year's Day
Sleater Kinney

Thank God someone finally mentioned Lemuria.
And, I know they're more in the vein of the whole indie rock/emo thing a lot of people dig too, but regardless of what genre you're looking for, they're pretty much a must listen:
Rainer Maria.
Long Knives Drawn and Catastrophe Keeps Us Together are the two albums I know of with Cathlin completely on lead vocals.

New Years Day is a great pop-punk band. They sort of fell off the face of the Earth for the time being because of huge label problems, but their debut release is solid. Plus, they are currently working on new music.
The Vincent Black Shadow is also extremely good; they are different, and more experimental than punk.
Picture Me Broken is a metalcore/ post-hardcore band that sounds like some sort of Blessthefall music with a female singer/screamer.
Straight Line Stitch is another good metalcore band that also has some poppy songs.
Light This City is also pretty good. They also have a metalcore sound, but the band is about to break up, and the singer and one of the guitarists founded a new punk band called Heartsounds. I really recommend them, too.

I tend to prefer male vocals with punk, not all music, but punk specifically.
That said, I do dig on Bikini Kill, Ivan and the Reds and Pink Daffodils (former PA hardcore punk acts), and DHC.

The Distillers were easily the best. To me, anyway. If I had to go somewher else, I would go with Tilt. Tilt broke up years ago, but were and amazingly melodic punk band on Fat Wreck. I'm gonna have to say Change To Fire here, too. I'm not a girl, but people think I am a lot. changetofire.bandcamp.com
I would say Tilt on this.
