View Full Version : What story would make a good concept album?

Just as the title says, fiction or non-fiction. For me, I think the story of The Mad Trapper would make a great concept album.

Besides, I've heard of worse ideas.

The Canterbury Tales.

Was hoping the 'Mad Trapper' would be a classic story of Admiral Ackbar's bravery in the Yuuzhan Vong.
I guess what it actually is could work too though.
My suggestion for a good concept album however is definitely the tale of Admiral Ackbar's bravery in the Yuuzhan Vong ...

Edit: Said album would be called 'The Mad Trapper'

Something to do with Jack The Ripper, or maybe an album from the perspective from someone that fought in Vietnam or WWII

A guy, who works as a college as a janitor, and at night solves really complex problems on the chalkboard that no one else can do. He also has intense psychological issues and can't decide what to do with his life, and is best friends with Ben Affleck.

Yeah i always thought a war concept would be awesome, its probably been done to death though.

I know Say Anything touched on it a little bit, and it's probably already been done, but maybe an album from the perspective of a Jew pre-WWII, during the Holocaust, and afterwards?

You never know what story would make a concept album.

I mean, how many people would ever think "Moby Dick" is a good answer to this question?

I'll tell you who, fucking nobody. That book pops fucking golfballs out its asshole at parties for attention.

....but then look at all the awesome that Mastodon crammed into it.

You're all wrong, what we need is a concept screamo album about Thomas the Tank Engine where Henry the Green Engine is framed for a triple homicide.

No, we got it the first time. Parallel universes, time travel, bunnies, Drew Barrymore pretending that she knows a fucking thing about linguistics.

My friend said the band whitechapel wrote their first ep about jack the ripper or something.
Keeping with the theme of serial killers, i really liked the Drop Dead, Gorgeous- Worse Than a Fairy tale. The story actually made sense.

Perhaps an album about the adventures of Wraith Squadron posing aboard The Night Caller?

The Post-Rock band i'm in is trying to tackle The Divine Comedy by Dante. Would be sick if we could nail it. We got Inferno and Pugatorio down alright, Paradiso is hard though.

Hell yeah, but I bet the song(s) covering Revelations and any war/battle would be pretty sweet.

I think only a Post-Rock group could do it sufficiently.

edit: It would be a punk album, and chorus would chant "Chaaaaaaaaaaariiiiizard! Fire BLLLLAAAST!"
