if you do it wrong, i hear you can seriously fuck up your vocal chords. i almost did that, but I learned how to do it the right way. All ya gotta do it get your voice really griddy when you're normally talking, and then just start yelling into a mic. its simple really.

Practice your breathing, that helps a lot. Also, don't try to be super loud with them, the best screams are usually the quieter ones.

Exhale. Don't inhale. Don't use your throat to much, only to distort the sound. Push air up from your diaphragm and then change the sound with your throat, as I previously stated. The wider you have your mouth open, the higher scream you can get, you tighter your mouth, the lower the scream. Make sure you drink lots of room temperature water before, during, and after you scream so you don't fuck up your vocal chords. If it hurts (which it will), don't keep going, stop and take a break or you can hurt your vocal chords. You will get used to it and it won't hurt after a while. Make sure you practice, practice, and practice some more. The more you practice the more natural it will feel and the better you will get (obviously). From there on out, it's pretty much up to you with what you wanna do.
