This is a poem i wrote a lil while ago about abortion. I guess it's from a girls perspective and how she got an abortion and feels bad

Comments?

The Wrong Choice:
I was just sixteen
Just starting on my own
Daddy and I had nowhere to call home
I think about you ever day
No matter if anythings said
Because memories of you blow through my head
Knowing i made the mistake of taking your life
Me and Daddy will be with you soon
But in the meantime please patiently wait
As we will both meet you at the gates
I hope you have fun in heaven
And are as happy and free as can be
I'm sorry i took your life
But at the time i thought i was right
But now that i look back
I would change what i did on that fateful night

very powerful subject matter. very hard to write something on this topic that everyone will like. personally I love your attempt. Do you have kids? I think that this kind of thing speaks a little stronger in someone who has kids even more than someone who has had an abortion. i think that wen somone regrets an abortion they really cant ever know how much they are missing. but even so if you do have kids..I would guess that none are the same as another..

A very tough subject to write about. It's really bland and needs more of an interesting perspective. Something fresh.

I'mn only 17 so no i do not. But i have friends who are 14/15/16/17 and even a 13 year old i knew that have had abortions b/c they didnt want the kids b/c they felt they made a "mistake" having sex with whoever they did it with, but then felt like shit for killing something innocent.

Thanks spear i can try to spice it up a little and repost possibly

yea i think that you made a great attempt. i guess it just seems that trying to put into words a feeling you cudnt understand is incredibly hard. i suppose the only way you cud really understand it fully is if you had an abortion and you hav kids. not only do you hav to deal with the thot of innocent murder but also the wat if's that com along with living the experiences and joys of the ones you didnt let go of... regret wud hit even harder... so i thibnk that it will be hard to spice up. that interesting perspetive may be hard to find. good luck.

Thanks, and this poem was VERY hard to try and write anyways, because right, i havent experienced that like some of my friends have, and hopefully never will have to in my lifetime(With my girlfriend or wife).

But i thought it was a powerful, good topic to write a poem about so i figured id give it a shot. This is only like the 3rd poem i've written from a different perspective like this, so thanks for saying it was a good attempt.

And yes this would be very hard to spice up since it took me a while to write it in the first place.
