This is a poll asking which one of these piano players is the best. Billy Joel or Elton John. I know it will anger people that I'm leaving out 'other,' but deal with it.' Decipher it however you want to, whether it's by talent, song goodness, etc. You may begin.
I gotta go with Billy. He's just had so more hits, and he seems like the better player as well.

I have to say Elton John. I'm not a huge fan of either to be honest, but I like Elton's music better on average, and he can wail on the keys.

I saw them both live once, and he definitely outshone Billy at parts.

Too be honest I don't know much Billy Joel at all. Maybe 3-5 songs max. I fucking love Elton John though so I go with him for sure.

Oh, you're totally missing out. Billy Joel has so many good tunes. Check out like a greatest hits or something if you have some extra time. Dude knows how to write.

I think I just might have to. When it comes to older artists like that I usually just pick up the greatest hits because odds are I'm not gonna be sitting down and listening to them all the time. I will put him on my list for sure. Is Billy Joel the "we didn't start the fire" guy? I love that song.

For total body of work, I go with Reg. For those in the dark on either, both had strings of memorable hits that definitely need to be checked out.

I'm tying it up for Elton John. He destroys Billy.

Are we talking just straight piano skills? I can't say who in that category but Billy beats Elton in my book. His songs are WAAAAAYYY more fun. And elton doesn't even write his own lyrics. His lover writes the lyrics. Billy is legit.

I think Elton is a better piano player yes, but the better songwriter and musician i feel is Billy. Billy wrote so many different songs that touch all across the board. Elton, well, he stuck with what he knew, which was amazing of course, but Billy's hits had much more diversity.

Tim Rice is responsible for most of the Lion King.

Elton John wrote most the music for all the major songs (i.e. Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, and Can You Feel The Love Tonight). Tim Rice wrote the lyrics.

I voted for Billy, just because he has a lot more awesome songs and his music has been a lot more meaningful to me over the years. Elton has some good ones (my favorite is Levon,) but not in the quality or quantity of BJ (lolz.)

How the hell is Elton John not blowing out Billy Joel? And this comes from someone who listens to them both evenly. This just isn't a contest in my mind.
