Everyone leaves the movie theater 5 minutes in, realizing they have just thrown away a decent sum of money on a terrible movie.

Or at least that's what I would do. But knowing the general taste of the American movie-going public, it will break box office records.

Actually Saw II is really quite clever....from the interviews that the directors have had to legal issues the movie is having....they did a really good job of covering up the twists

why don't people like the original saw??? I have no idea how anyone can dislike it...I mean, the twist after the twist was totally unexpected (and I DOUBT any of you really thought of that)...ya if you compare it to se7en or something then of course this looks like shit...but then you should also compare the budget and actors used in this...are you really gonna compare Brad Pitt to the guy who was in robin hood men in tights???

and let's assume you're not comparing...the plot was somewhat original (thought a bit unrealistic)...but it did have a certain amount of shock value which was well done imo...I dunno.

A good idea forced into sequals untill the public stops spending money on it.

why i despised SAW:

I thought the film had 'arthouse ambition' as one critic put it, but there were absolutely no redeeming performances in this film whatsoever. this was nothing more than a poor excercise in audience manipulation. The film glorified in ugliness instead even coming close to scaring, and the conclusion was so contrived and completely implausible. instead of building us up through structure and giving us a true twist(i don't know...perhaps maybe involving someone that was in the film for more than 30 seconds!!!), it goes for cheap deception for the sake of trying to look original. we go through maybe 100 possible suspects, before the real murderer is revealed, and to our shock, it turns out he was(in theory) absent the entire film. a true twist is not revealing the killer as a character who was never in the movie. now that's sheer brilliance at work. i hate films like that. and then we're supposed to believe that all these sick and elaborate traps were suppose to have some kind of motive other than conveniently filling a two hour movie.

the film had a few nice touches, but hardly enough to cover a potboiler script, and the worst performances of the year. i don't think anybody should have to settle for cheap fodder like this. i hope the sequel improve on all levels, and maybe resurrect an otherwise intriguing idea, and make a better movie, but i doubt it. does anybody come close to feelin me on this?!

Wasen't the original Saw made on an ungodly small budget?

I bet Saw II will be ten times more disgusting and grotesque than the first...and I bet it will totally rule.

At least I hope it will. Hopefully they don't ruin it with the sequel.

Yes it was made on a little over 1 million dollars

Saw II has more gore although its not much more...its still the same use your imagination approach...

And yes it does totally rule....all kinds of ass

So basically the killer from the first has a tape from someone else who is the real mastermind.

This is how I see it going down..

It will be released to video and dvd three months after it hits theaters because it (didn't think this could happen) sucked worse than the first. Everyone will claim it is amazing, better than the first. I'll go over to someone I know's house and it'll be on TV and that will be the only way I will see this movie because there is no way in hell I'm wasting eight dollars on a gore, shit film. :)
