When Xbox first came out, everyone that was looking at their apps thought, "This shit isn't going to last." of course, then Halo hit. It really is all about the apps. Round one doesn't mean much to Xbox, they just want to outsell PS3.

The two different versions shouldn't affect developers, should it? Looks more like a rip to get people to buy the harddrive. I suspect the shell-version will be off the market relatively soon. The stills for 360 look amazing. I'm excited about the new Morrowind &...of course...Perfect Motherfucking Dark Zero. I've been waiting years for that shit.

Revolution's lineup looks weak. I'll still buy it, but Nintendo needs to grow up and not count so much on that fanbase.

I'm definetly getting a PS3 and Revolution. To tell you the truth, I don't really like most first person shooters and i got bored of madden a while ago. Other than that, there is nothing else on the Xbox. The graphics just make it look like Xbox 1.5 and not a true next gen system.

The thing about the 360 is ID is releasing all their upcoming titles on xbox as well as PC. Seeing as this will probably become a trend among other PC developers, and is somewhat already on the original xbox (Bioware, Epic, and the release of Far Cry), the 360 is going to be the system for FPS's and pc style rpg's. I wouldn't be suprised to see valve jumping on the 360, especially since the 360 is using ATI graphics and valves engine runs better on ATI than nvidia. The 360 will be a contender. Square Enix is even looking at the 360 for future games. A totally revamped version of FFXI is coming to XBOX, most likely because with XBOX live the connection will be a lot smoother and lag free than the PS2 connection. Please someone remind what Square Enix did for the Nintendo Gamecube? Cause I'm pretty sure it was half-assed.

As a PC gamer, and former playstation fan boy, I'll probably pick up the 360.
Right now the only thing impressing me about PS3 is MGS4. And if they actually do a FFVII remake.

The Revolution has the best potential to change everything though. Also, you can use gamecube controllers on the revolution, so quick panicking about having to use the revolution controller in a zelda game. If the new controller sucks, at least they have their bases covered.

Um, the revolution is the weakest FYI. It's well known already. Xbox360 is not causing havoc with developers because the system has 512MB of (fast) RAM and have asked everyone to NOT count on the user having an HDD. They've also got the best game programming tools in the industry. PS3 won't even come with an HDD anyway, and it's still going to cost probably $400-500 without the fucking bundles game stores make you buy!

From Mario to their newest IP, Battalion Wars. They have said Metroid and Smash Brothers will launch with the system, and right there, I am already sold on it. Pikmin will be out, as will Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2 (ugh :() and all their major players.

For traditionally controlled games, they will have a controller shell, similar to dreamcast remote where the VMU unit was plugged into it.

And they will bring back Duck Hunt finally.

The Rev might not be the most powerful out of the units, but it will probably be the most fun and affordable.

it has to do with the developers leaving out certain parts of games for those who don't have the 360 with the hardrive...or making two different versions of the same game. def a money loser. but as for the line up for 360...MGS4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS. ...and on a lesser note, killzone 3 (i'm still not convinced that was real time...although mgs4 was, and is more impressive than even killzone). so don't count sony out, they have some serious firepower when the ps3 launches.

You must not keep up with console news too well. Sony is providing the same if not more developer tools free of charge to make it easier on developers. I dont feel like looking them up just for arguments sake. But it is a huge list. And everyone already knows Carmack prefers the 360 over the PS3. He just doesnt want to change and adapt. If anyone has ever watched G4 or been to gaming websites then they would know what they were talking about. First off, the XBOX 360 will contain HDD and the PS3 will not. The PS3 wants to use blu ray which will cost a shitload more...ouch! It's also important to note that while MGS4 has been shown sony has yet to show any other game. As matter of fact, sony dosen't even have any playable demos of MGS4 so that graphics that are so sweet may be pre-rendered. Second, anyone that says that Microsoft only makes shooters must have forgotten about Ninja Gaiden one of the best 3rd person action games and Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic which I beleive was game of the year for 2003. They also are released Fable which is considered by many to be one of the most revolutionary rpg's. The new system, the 360 is going to be pretty sweet too. It cost $400 but thats what every system is going cost and the PS3 might even cost more. It is going to have some first person games but if you look at their line-up you will see hat they will have more than shooters even at lunch. They have Kameo and Elder Scrolls which are both RPG'S , 2 days to vegas which is a GTA type game, and condemmed which is going to one of the most unique first person action action games. OK, a couple notes on why you are incorrect.

1. Being the least powerful system means nothing. Like said earlier, the PS2 was the obvious least powerful system of the generation but still sold the best. Not only that, but the graphics look nice, but it's not graphics that make a game...it's the gameplay. That's one of the reasons why I'd pick a GBA game like LoZ: Minish Cap over something like Triggerman. Graphics may not be as good, but you're not playing a game for the graphics, you're playing for the game. Try again.

2. Nintendo is not using the technology for the DS? You are severely misinformed/ignorant, because you must have missed games like Kirby Canvas Curse, WarioWare, and that Emergency Room game. Try again.

3. The Revolution won't be used in a good way? I see no way for conventional games to be played normally with the remote control-ler, so they're going to have to make games that use it to the full extent. Try again.

4. Tired of playing the same game with new graphics? And you're complaining about the Revolution? And preaching the 360? Come on, now. You know that 360 is going to be sports games and first person shooters. Can you get any more unoriginal than those? I personally hate paying for a game more than once, especially to just be able to run around and level up "socially." I prefer a console rpg anyday, unless of course it's made by bioware (knights of the old republic is better on PC hands down.)

I'm sure swinging a sword for a zelda game will be kick ass. As it would for playing Soul Caliber. Think about holding two controllers and swinging away as Talim. I was simply mentioning the availibilty of the gamecube controller ports for the people who aren't to excited about the controller. (the new controller, with the analog stick, could prove to be the ultimate fps controller. that is if its handled correctly.)

All I have to say is that most of the gamecube games sucked and thats why I think the revolution is going to fail. The only game they have lined up so far is Mario 180. You know why they are making the system completely backward compatible? Becuase they know thats the only way to get people to buy a revolution.
