I used to love this band but I really just don't want to listen to them anymore. It's weird, they just got old really fast. Wasn't really into the new cd that much either. I back these guys though.

Liked them a fair bit before their latest album but I guess they just got old too quickly.

I just took a quick glance at your profile and say you listed Converge as a favorite band. I don't understand how they can bore you if you like a band very similar. The only difference is the vocals and thats because of the pitch.

Blast beats, fast punk riffs, intelligible vocals... Where as they sound different, the method and style is the same.

Blast beats, fast punk riffs, intelligible vocals... Where as they sound different, the method and style is the same.
could have sworn you said the only difference was the pitch of the vocals
weird
but yeah converge and ceremony sound nothing alike and Ross is pretty easy to understand when he yells
fast punk riffs could describe an punk band from the mid eighties on
i always though Blink 182 and the Repos sounded similair
so many different bands play blast beats that saying that is a similarity is just ridiculous
Cannibal Corpse and and Warsawwasraw are nothing a like
Ceremony have a very clean style
as Converge play well but switch time signatures in very unusual points in their music and uses totally different song structures
god damn you said one of the stupidest things ever
no you didnt say it you DECLARED it as if it were fact
as if you were proving someone wrong instead of acting like you knew what you were taking about

Well, for one, while shoegaze isn't a terribly energetic genre, at least Ceremony the shoegaze band's rehashing of My Bloody Valentine was somewhat compelling. Ceremony the hardcore band is fucking terrible and boring. They basically appeal to only people who haven't researched hardcore further than b9 board.

I don't know, a lot of Shoegaze is pretty energetic unless you're listening to the more Dream Pop-y bands or something like that. I wouldn't call it any less energetic than any other genre, anyway.
Ceremony are fun, but I've never been that big on Hardcore. Seeing them in a bit with Genghis Tron, Converge, etc., though, they seem like they'd put on a good show.
I downloaded some Ceremony the Shoegaze band recently. Obviously the MBV influence is kind of unavoidable for any Shoegaze band, but I'm kind of liking their more Electronic elements even if some if it is kind of cheesy (too bad all Screengaze can't be as good as the recent A Shoreline Dream & Ulrich Schnauss collabo).

As for the hate this band gets, I listen to Infest. I really like Infest.
I also think this band fucking rules, and there is much worse "trendy" hardcore bands you could be attacking.
Violence, Violence was really good for a debut, it's a lot of fun and people who appreciate hardcore probably loved this until it got hyped, because everybody is too ashamed to be apart of the bandwagon and don't want to be seen as trendy.
Still Nothing Moves You is a fucking crazy follow up. Disagree if you like, but it's far more creative then its predecessor and from the moment the bass intro kicks in til the end of the cd (minus the interludes) I feel like killing people.
They have served their purpose.
