I implore you to read my review (http://www.absolutepunk.net/reviews.php?action=viewarticle&artid=320) of Ludo (http://www.purevolume.com/Ludo) - Broken Bride EP, and even if you don't, please check this band out. It's one of the better EPs of the year, I think you'll like it.
Let me know what you think in the comments!

why was the first thread deleted?
anyways, like i had said in the first thread, this band is alright. i can think of a few bands in saint louis, that are unsigned, who are much better and have a better live show. dont get me wrong, they are talented guys, but i don't think they are even in the top five within the saint louis area. just my two cents.

Oh for real? I'm unfamiliar with that scene, who else is noteworthy?

I thought this whole EP was really cheesy, moreso than Coheed.
I think I gave it a 2.5/5

westcott, novella, femme fatality, crimson addict, when sorrow fails, behind the blindfold, farewell address, sophomore, bi-level, maybe today, etc etc. haha ok thats more than five. but these are all bands i think have more potential and better live shows than ludo. ive just never been really impressed.
also a saint louis band that gets overlooked sometimes is calico system.

I tend to get swept up in these grand overdone fantasy concepts (see: Coheed obsession) lol, but I understand totally

Hey, these kids ain't half bad...
There's some really really good stuff there, if they could find a way to punch up the rest of it they may be sitting on a mine...of ROCK!!!
Nice work, Garrett.
...and hey...isn't Ludo that big, hairy guy in the movie "Labrynth," or is it the guy from the Harry Potter books...??? Perhaps neither...or both???

Word on Calico System. I don't think people even think of them as a St. Louis band, just an awesome band.

Yeah Ludo is the big hairy dude in "Labyrinth" starring none other than David Bowie....I was actually wondering if that had anything to do with the naming of the band right before I read your post.
I saw them with Swizzle Tree in Chicago a few years ago, awesome live show!

I don't know if the Say Anything cd is supposed to be a Rock Opera. In the booklet it says it was suppose to be, but they crapped out. I thought, but maybe I'm wrong. I listened Ludo on purevolume, I can't find their cd anywhere. Can anyone send it to me? IM; Middlenameboom10

I dig it... It is different and the singer has great control of his voice.

I wish I could play the rest of the EP for you guys. The complete vision is really what makes it so magical. It's like you guys have only seen The Fellowship of the Ring, you know? If you like what you hear, order the EP!

I'm actually digging this band. They are on to something. I'm getting a Rush vibe from them. I like it. I'm gonna keep my eye out on this band. And let's not forget the best 'rock opera' album this year, Vendetta Red's "Sisters of the Red Death". I plug this band so much I should work for them...haha

Nice review. I gave them a listen on PV the other day and I liked what I heard. I will have to find a copy of this.

a few things...
GREAT review of the album!! it captured it so well!
yes ludo is named after the labyrinth.
i think ludo is one of the best bands st. louis has ever seen. most bands dont draw near the crowd that they do. in fact, they have sold out mississippi nights this year, and even most well known names can't even do that. they have some of the most dedicated fans as well. i have never witnessed such dedication out of a group of people. every band needs the fans that ludo has to succeed in the music business.
i think the broken bride ep is definitely something everyone needs to listen to at least once. not only for the music, but for the amazingly descriptive story line. not only are the lyrics and music amazing, the vocals are outstanding! it is like the story HAS to be told. it has been built up for so long and it just has to get out. so much emotion and intensity.
i have been telling all my friends about this ep for a while now, and i am so happy that the word is spreading the way it is! i hope everyone that likes it tells their friends as well so everyone can know the story of the traveler and his broken bride...
