If it's your first time, odds are you're gonna get nervous before hand. I had a plate and 9 screws put in my right leg and I was petrified going in there. It's really not as bad as you'll think. The iv is annoying and a pain at first and when they take it out, but that's about it. Good luck!

I had surgery on my foot about a year and a half ago. I was sort of nervous, but since it was my foot and it's so far away from any vital organs or arteries or anything it wasn't that nerve racking. I will tell you what though, it was the best damn nap I've ever had in my life.

yeah this is my first major surgery, i had minor surgery on my ankle when I was 12 but it was in and out in like 3 hours. This time I have a torn meniscus, and it has been degrading because apparently it happened 6 months ago. They can't even do arthroscopic on it, they have to open the whole knee.

thanks for everyone's well wishes.

I tore my PCL and there was no surgery for me! WOO! Now my knee does this fun thing where it moves back about 1/4 of an inch further than it should.

playing baseball.... little league is dangerous it happened almost 2 years ago but i had to wait to grow a bit cause the surgery could stunt my growth if something went wrong

Ouch, I know the feeling kinda. I partially tore my MCL a couple years ago and they were pretty sure it was gonna end up being my ACL. Needless to say I was glad to hear it'd heal on its own.

This time I have a torn meniscus...

Yep, that's what happened to me. Two surgeries later I no longer have a meniscus and my knee feels good as new. Don't worry about it and make sure and do your rehab!
