Almost dl'd the demo yesterday, decided to wait and just play the full thing today. Kind of excited, hopefully after playing I am more excited.

The demo is like a quarter of the first level anyway, it's no big deal. There's like 2 big firefights and that's it.

It's really bizarre when some cutscenes are in first person and some are in third though.

Agreed about the controls. I also hate how the zoom is the right stick and not the left trigger.

You can change the zoom. I have mine on R1 and "zoom hold" or something like that.

Had a 20 kill streak in my last game. It was awesome.

I'm definitely getting the hang of it, but I want to try some smaller games because the 32 or whatever person games get a bit too hectic for my likings. I wouldn't have probably had the 20 kill streak in a smaller game, but whatever. Definitely starting to dig it a lot more.

That's awesome. I didn't like that you couldn't look at any online stats from the main menu, but this makes up for it.

I think you have to hold L2 the whole time, and yeah, you can shoot while in cover. You can blind-fire, but also lean over the cover to aim better.

i think one of them is negative points for like team kills or suicides possibly and the other is points for objective based tasks like diffusing a bomb, killing the assassination target, etc.

I was pinned behind the wall, occasionally peaking out to take some pot-shots. Finally I decided I needed to move to a different vantage point. I jumped out from my cover and started running across the open area strafing and took out 3 of the four helghast. I make it to a stone pillar in the middle, but when I press L2 I can't take cover behind it.

So I stand so it's completely in front of me thinking it will at least block the bullets. All of a sudden I hear gunfire and chunks of the pillar start tearing off. After about 10 seconds, the gunfire has eaten all the way down to the rebar of the pillar and I'm getting toasted by bullets. Finally the helghast runs out of bullets, so while he's reloading I draw my assault rifle, take aim, and headshot him through the rebar.

Love this game.

I think I'm about 1.5 hours into it and yes the AI is quite good, which actually makes the game somewhat challenging.

I'm on the last level of single player and it's crazy. There's waves and waves of Helghast, can't imagine beating it on elite with no crosshairs. The level on the train was probably one of my favourites, it looked damn cool.

I'm in a different clan, but I can invite a few of you guys. I don't think there'd be enough people on here to start an AP clan.

I was on the map w/ the sandstorm (can't remember the name) and there are those 2 bridges sort of in the middle of the level. I was on the left side, and a dude was on the right. He didn't see me but I had been cooking a grenade because I saw him crossing. I snuck out of my cover, tossed the grenade, it blew up maybe 3 feet in front of him (so between the 2 bridges). The impact killed him, knocked his body to the other side of the bridge causing his legs to hit the railing and flip him over.

When you collect intel in the single player game you unlock documents on the Killzone website.

The downloadable PDFs include propaganda posters, wildlife entries, Helghast journal pages, and even Killzone-themed papercraft. The blog also promises more details on how the Web site and game will interact with each other soon, so we'll keep you informed of the new features as we hear about them.

Yep. It gets annoying if a few people are using the engineer ability, sometimes you can hardly get any down. From memory, after you get five kills with your turrets in a game eight times you unlock the repair ability. Then once you do the same with the repair ability you can use a different second ability with the engineer class. The tactician is the worst, it's so hard to get any kills with those air bots.

already played this through twice. such a sweet game. i didn't like the weighty controls either at first, but after i upped the x & y sensitivity in the settings menu, it was a ton easier to get used to moving around. I wish it was a longer game though. I guess that's a sign of it's quality. can't wait to get to the multiplayer.

There's some new DLC (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/gametrailers-gives-sneak-peek-at-killzone-2-dlc/gives-sneak-peek-at-killzone-2-dlc/) coming out soon that features two new maps. One of them is on two Helghast freight trains that you can jump between and can get taken out by hazards around you, it looks awesome.

There's a patch coming out tomorrow to fix a fair few bugs as well. Guerilla are working on an even bigger DLC so it'll be interesting to see what it is with two new maps already.
