I'm a winamp n00b. Plz help?

Anyone wanna help me with dumb Winamp questions? I can't stand the classic skin, so I want to change that. Also if there's a way for it to list the music like iTunes does (song, artist, album, play count.....that type of thing) I wanna do that too.

Well I don't like:
a) The classic skin.
b) How it numbers all the songs rather than by cd. I liked the layout of iTunes where it has it in the columns Song, Artist, Album...that way.

if that's what you're talking about. select the file(s) you want to edit, right click and do "view file info"

not in the playlist no. but you know you can just play files in the library? just right click the top left corner and uncheck "playlist" and use the media library to play files, edit tags, etc.

that's the best you can do but you can use the media library just like the playlist.

yeah, i wasn't gonna get winamp either. but then my roommate showed me all the streamable stuff they have on the brand new one. we listened to like 800 different xm and sirius radio stations... you can watch individual episodes of family guy, futurama, and shows like that. but i really really really wanted it to be like iTunes when i'm playing music. like where i can find a song by clicking on the artist column and typing in a few letters and it auto-scrolling. and i'd like to be able to do that in the playlist as well, not just the library. if someone figures it out. let me know.+

You can unnumber your playlist by going where LMNOP just said and going to preferences. Go to Playlist and uncheck "Show playlist item numbers in Playlist Editor."

You should call/e-mail Apple's support about iTunes. They might be able to help you out.

use the media library, that's probably what i'll end up doing. i had to get rid of itunes because it was screwing up my computer.

Dunno. My friend's going to go to RISD, but that's not the same as Emerson. EC's devoted almost completely to journalism. Hell, if you take 4 years of math in high school, you don't have any required math classes there.

I still don't understand how you're having problems. If you want it to look and operate like the iTunes library, hit the ML button on the right side to launch the media library. It sorts by album, artist, etc...and there's a search bar. It has everything iTunes does.

Oh trust me dude, I'd be using iTunes right now if it weren't for the fact that I can't launch the program at all. I tried reinstalling it again today for like the 8th time. I'm not a personal fan of winamp, but I don't see how I can get iTunes fixed. :-/

It installs fine. Just whenever you try to launch it, it doesn't do anything at all except piss me off.
