Hey guys, Im going to George Washington right now, and was just curious if anyone at all on thsi site went there as well. Maybe American/Georgetown/George Mason/UVA/Maryland as well. Itd be kinda cool to know if there was a community of people that are local and are on this site

Its awesome, I love it alot. Ive met a few GMU kids that have come to GWU parties, how is George Mason?

Mason's awesome. I live on campus which is cool but it's mostly a commuter school so there isn't much to do on the weekends.

That sucks. Well at least youre only a few metro stops away from the city/GW for the nightlife. For concerts where do you go? I usually go Rams Head in Baltimore, or 9:30 club (but that venue is so shitty Ive only ever been to one there because good bands will never choose it)

i'm at mason too. but i'm at GW a lot this semester for my internship, working in the editing lab over by your student center off of H street and i think 21st. other than that i haven't seen much of that school yet but i'm sure i will. and yeah it seems like all the good shows end up in baltimore, so if you don't have a car, which i doubt you do, you might be missin some good shit

Yea for concerts I usually take the Marc train or Amtrak which is a bitch but really the only way to get out there without a car

I'm a little out of your coverage area, I live in RVA and go to VCU but I go to DC shows on the regular and am in the city relatively frequently if that's worth anything.

Actually, the 9:30 is arguably the best venue for its size on the east coast.

Yea but something about it must deter bands, they always choose Baltimore over DC. I've heard its the cost of playing there but who knows.

What "good bands" choose Baltimore over DC? Because all of the best shows always come to DC...if not at the 930, it's at the Black Cat, Rock and Roll Hotel, St Stephen's Church, etc.

yes it's amazing.

930 is a pretty sweet venue. the only venue i really havent been to is dc 9. Anyone been there?

I'm a hardcore/punk kid and there are very few of us there, but I chill with the metal kids and we have a tight-knit little group of heavy music lovers. We go to shows together. I specialize in the underground scene in the area. It's awesomeeee ^_^

Sweet good to see there are a bunch of DC people. There are a few good tours coming through DC/Baltimore this Fall so maybe I'll see people there.
