I love the new ABR ep, the two b-sides are amazing and the rest of it is much different for them, but pretty fun. and funny (To Those About to Rock and Piano Man) I was surprised, and laughed when I first heard them, but the EP was probably my most played this week.

And I'm really really looking forward to the House of Heroes re-release.

To any reviewers reading this:
SET IT OFF's brand new EP Calm Before The Storm (to be released in May) was produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Senses Fail, Circa Survive). We hope you choose us for a review and do not think for any reason you will regret the decision of doing so.
Thank you for your time!

That Military Special record came out here in town yesterday. I picked up a copy at the store pretty much on a whim, and MAN AM I GLAD I DID! It's pretty much like nothing I've ever heard before in my life. Someone should def review it before they blow up.

i speak this on behalf of my country:

plainsunset's been around for years, and i think they honestly do not get the recognition they deserve elsewhere other in singapore. it's really really catchy pop-punk that speaks honestly, and can get you dancing, ANYTIME.

a vacant affair's reasons to leave is probably one of my favourite albums of 2008. it really is a very honest album, and definitely worth your time checking them out. they're extremely passionate performers on stage, especially matthew, their lead singer, and their feelings are really put across to anyone who will listen. go watch them if you're not convinced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkDHAxGYEVk. they're the first post-hardcore band in singapore to ever play on television, and the crowd actually broke some of the equipment in the studio after their songs that night from the moshing. please review them, because honestly i think it's time for asian rock music to be really seen. in fact, i'd review both plainsunset and ava's albums if it hasn't been done already.

oh, and young love would be good as well, thanks. :)

I personally would love to see an Empty Orchestra / Silverbird review!

And not just because I am the publicist for this release.

Here's some info about Empty Orchestra (from the band's site):

Empty Orchestra is an American Musical Group from Flint, Michigan.
We are Empty Orchestra. We began in 2006, out of the remains of several different Michigan bands, as a recording project between friends.
The product of that recording was “Get Well Soon,” an EP released by Michigan-based Acutest Records. The EP displayed the stylistic freedom that the band was created to pursue, based in traditional American forms like folk, country, blues, and rock and/or roll – a format that continues to inspire our songs.
After playing a lot of shows to support “Get Well Soon” and meeting a lot of new people in the process, we partnered with Chicago-based Thinker Thought Records to release our follow-up full-length, “Here Lies Empty Orchestra,” in August 2007. This record showed our evolution over the past year into a collective model of music production, showcasing the talents of no fewer than 10 members. Following the release of “Here Lies...,” we toured more extensively than ever before, and made even more new friends. People said very nice things about the album, and we were excited and thankful.
We are Empty Orchestra, and we are a community. We are made up of friends and members of the Flint and Mid-Michigan independent music community. Our roots are in punk rock and our ambitions are for song creation without boundaries.
We love making songs, we love playing songs, we love you. Thanks. This is fun.
