Dashboard Confessional (http://www.dashboardconfessional.com)'s Chris Carrabba raised more than $150,000 for hurricane relief last month through three benefit concerts his band staged; all featured Coheed and Cambria (http://www.coheedandcambria.com), The New Amsterdams (http://www.thenewamsterdams.com) and The Honorary Title (http://www.thehonorarytitle.com) in the opening slots. Money raised from the gigs will be presented to Save the Children, Direct Relief International and AmeriCares. Carrabba also donated the track "Ghost of a Good Thing," a song he performed during MTV's ReAct Now: Music and Relief concert. The song is available for download at various online music retailers, with all proceeds earmarked for the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.

Good for him. Good guy.
Great live to. Solo acoustic is the way to go, but back to the topic, great man.
I am proud to say I was there for that show in NJ.
Amazing cause.. all of the bands involved deserve HUGE props. It costs A LOT of money to drive/fly around, and the fact they paid for this out of their pocket shows they're incredible people.
Congratulations, to all people involved.. I hope the money is well spent.

I agree. It's always good to see people join together for a good cause. Chris seems like a really nice person.

Pearl Jam/Robert Plant & Strange Sensation played a Katrina Benefit show at the HOB Chicago where tickets went for $1,000. I'm pretty sure they sold it out, too. Insane.

buying a 1000 ticket for a charitable cause is a tax write off for many people.

You know it's a damn shame that all of these artists are putting together such big profitable concerts and none of the money is actually being used for what they donated it for.
