i love that faint song.
we should make a mix of just album opening songs, and then another of album closing songs.

I'd put Thursday's "For the workforce/Drowning" on the openers, and mabye "Radio" or "Blue in the Face" by Alkaline Trio, along with "Play Crack the sky" or "Soco ammeretto lime" by BN on the closers mix.
But that's just me.

1. The Get Up Kids - Campfire Kansas
to
2. JamisonParker - Slow Suicide
It was magic.

I agree, there's no better oppening than "For the Workforce Drowning." I also thought "Car Underwater" made for a great oppener, along with "Miseria Cantare" of AFI's STS.

the only problem with that is that its such a long song
Death From Above's "Sexy Results", Say Anything's "Admit It!!!" and Brand New's "Good To Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have To Do Is Die" are also all good closers.

if youre making an album meant to grab by the balls, you cant do anything but fall of troy "mouths like sidewinder missles"
but if its for a girl you like, and you arent starting it with "the seduction" by he is legend you will never get laid.
also, for an ender, "everything reminds me of her" by elliott smith

HA! god you are HIL-AIR-E-OUS. Wow! I didnt know that only 13 year old girls listen to pop-punk these days.
Im sorry that its not indie-hip enough for you, but starting a mix with elliott smith is just no good unless its a soft, slow mix.

with a death from above song title as your user name, id say you were hip enough to do whatever you want, espically not know that elliott smith is a perfect album opener.
also, if that doesnt "work" for you, a better album opener has to be screeching weasel's "hey suburbia" or the lawrence arms "brick wall views."
but i doubt youve heard either or those songs, so its your loss.
p.s.
you gave me negative scene points for that?
wow. you are a massive douche.
massive.
you really got me you vengeful fuck. how did you know how much taking away my secne points hurts when i disagree with someone on something? espically when im trying to have a laugh on it?
i may as well have to cry while im busy doing lines of coke of a 13 year olds ass later on tonight while i listen to my mix cd that starts with elliott smith.

crying while doing coke might get your coke wet, nobody wants wet coke now do they?
you attempts to insult me are laughable at best, and yes i have heard both the screeching weasel and lawrence arms song, and im sorry that i just dont feel that signer songwriters make good mix tape openers, maybe if it was at all quiet and emo mix then i'd understand, any other way though. nope... not at all.

elliott smith is about as emo as joan cusack. theyre related, but not really that close at all.

A Wilhelm Scream "The King is Dead" (I know it's the opener to the album too but I love how it lulls you into the quiet acoustic bit and then just throws you into the insanity)

as for an opener, Death From Above 1979 - Turn It Out does a great fucking job at it.
and ender, I'd say something more like.. Morrisey - First Of The Gang To Die.
