Just got back from the Indianapolis date of the "Grab Your Guns Tour" featuring Emery (http://www.emerymusic.com), Gym Class Heroes (http://www.gymclassheroes.com), Gatsby's American Dream (http://www.gatsbysamericandream.com), and As Cities Burn (http://www.ascitiesburn.com). I'm not a big fan of ACB, but they played with a lot of energy and the crowd was very into it during their set. GAD was great live; Nic was awesome with his fun little dance moves. During one part of the set, he was standing on top of a box in the front of the stage and he slipped off and landed on his face. He was okay and asked that, if anyone got a picture of it, to send it to their website. GAD played a lot off of Volcano including: Theatre, Pompeii, Fable, The Giant's Drink, Shhh..I'm Listening to Reason, Badlands, and The Loosing Of The Shadow. I can't remember the rest of what they played. GCH was good, they had a huge turnout for their set, very energetic. Travis was sick but still did well. They played Papercuts, Taxi Driver, Make Out Club, Simple Livin', Cupid's Chokehold, and some others. Emery was amazing live. They came out wearing cowboy suits and hats. They played: So Cold I Could See My Breath, The Ponytail Parades, Returning The Smile You've Had From The Start, Left With Alibis And Lying Eyes, Disguising Mistakes With Goodbyes, Playing With Fire, By All Accounts (Today Was A Disaster), Fractions, Studying Politics, and closed with Walls. It was great, I have a headache, no voice, and my ears are ringing. If this show is coming near you, definitely go. You'll get 4 great acts.

In semi-related news..everyone should check out the Mae tour....so good, Circa was a bit lackluster and disappointing from the last time I saw them, but Mae was so good...they even played "Sun And The Moon"

Hey buddy, I was there too. And, you said it...

As Cities Burn: I got in the venue just as they started. They opened with "Terrible! How Terrible For The Great City" and closed with "Of Want And Misery: The Nothing That Kills." What more could I ask for? Okay, okay, fine, yes..."The Widow," but that would never happen.

Gatsby's American Dream: Great, great band live for sure. They played mostly new stuff of the record "Volcano," which they were selling for only $5. The nicest guys ever too. The lead singer took a nasty spill during the set, but I talked to him after. He just laughed about. Check them out if you haven't.

Gym Class Heros: Didn't watch them. Sorry.

Emery: Great, as usual. I liked them the second time I saw them the most. This time, they played a lot of new songs. I'm not a big fan of the new record. Nonetheless, they rock hard every show. Outfits = spectacular. It's always nice seeing Dave Powell since I used to see him all the time...since he's from Indiana.

I like GCH better than all of those bands, although they are also good.

You're a damn fool for skipping them.

Sweet, I was wearing a purple shirt, I was in the front of the stage for the whole night. You missed out on GCH, they are great live. When Nic spilled on stage, I thought it was on purpose. I'm glad he was ok. Did you tell GAD they could stay at your place? lol

I was at the Cleveland show on Thursday night. I second everything that has been said already - Gym Class was always good. I've seen them 3 times now. I handed out posters of the show I did to the band members and they were all super excited about it. And I gave Travis a mylkhead shirt he said "I'm gonna rock this. Rock this haaaaarrrd!" Haha, he's a great guy

yeah, until the cops came and cleared us off of the street, I was outside. Couldn't believe it sold out. The last two times I've seen Mae, its been a packed house though, and for good reason.

headache...no voice....ringing ears....yea that sounds a lot like me. the only thing that could have been better with the whole show was if there had been lights for emery...yea that would have been great...

One of the best I've been to...

lostntheseethru
10/14/05, 10:30 PM
i started out like right up front for as cities burn but i couldnt handle it...there were a few guys behind me that i dont understand why they felt they had to get closer....i mean we were practically touching the stage anyway....drew i wondered where you would be... anway after being beaten almost to death by the idiots behind me i stepped out of the insane crowd until emery came back on. then it was just obsured. there were way too many stupid people there tonight. i dont mind being pushed around when im up front...its pretty much expected. i also dont mind people enjoying the music their own way, even if it means going wild and causing chaos...whatever. but when there is no fucking music or anything like that...it really does no good to push forward...there is only so far you can go...that just agrivates me.

you could see emery better in the back anyway...so i was ok when i went and sat with nic from gad for the remaining 4 songs that emery played

ill agree.... except this time it really pissed me off they had the lights off for emery. its not as good when you really cant see their faces and expressions and such. that makes half the show is watching the emotion and such on the bands faces when you cant see that its not as good.

Gym Class Heros is the worst piece of this band in the history of music. Let's never mention them again.

Gatsbys is ridiculously overrated...

Emery and As Cities were incredible.
