Who else is going? I'm totally fucking going, I love all the bands performing (especially BTE).
I'm really stoke, tight ass line-up.

Going for Norma Jean, and that's it.

Not sure if 20 bucks is really worth it for NJ, but I'll probably end up going.

Just saw Norma Jean in Tulsa on Tuesday. Not sure if the setlist will be similar, but it was:

-Intro
-Robots/Humans
-Like Swimming Circles
-Vipers
-Memphis
-Small Spark
-Vertebraille
-Bayonetwork
-Outro

Would go for Norma Jean and Blessthefall. Silverstein is okay, but I've heard they suck live. Before Their Eyes just suck period.

Norma Jean is the only band I really wanna see and if their setlist is this short, I don't know if it's worth $23 plus ridiculous Ticketmaster service fees.

so they kicked off the tour tonight and they put on an amazing show. i missed the first two bands and don't listen to norma jean enough to compile a setlist, but here's what silverstein played...it's not in order.

Giving Up
Discovering the Waterfront
My Heroine
Sound of the Sun
Your Sword Vs. My Dagger
Smile In Your Sleep
My Disaster
A Great Fire
Vices
Broken Stars
Fist Wrapped In Blood
Defend You
Call It Karma

ENCORE [in order]:
Apologize [Punk Goes Pop 2 Cover]
Born Dead
Bleeds No More

if you've ever enjoyed listening to Silverstein or Norma Jean, you owe it to yourself to make it out to one of these shows. Those dudes fucking killed tonight and i'm sure once the record comes out the setlist will change to add more songs, but what they played tonight was RIDICULOUS. grab $20 and get to one of these shows.

I find it really hard to believe in that setlist that was posted from Norma Jean earlier that Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste is not the closer, I have seen them seven or eight times since 2005 and that has always been the closer. That setlist can not be in the correct order, even if it isn't what htey play on this tour.

yea, they played an insane set. and i voted on that pickrset for Ides, Always, Already Dead, Smashed Into Pieces, and When Broken Is Easily Fix and they didn't play them. not a big deal because they still played a super awesome set but i would've loved to hear When Broken Is Easily Fixed or Rodeo Clown.

btw, the songs they played off the new record are incredible. be ready for awesome if you haven't already heard the clips online. A Great Fire is kickass as well.

Norma Jean (03/24/09 Denver, CO)

Robots: 3, Humans: 0
Like Swimming Circles
Vipers, Snakes, And Actors
Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste
A Small Spark Vs. A Great Forest
Bayonetwork
Creating Something Out Of Nothing, Only To Destroy It (portion of it only, more like an outro)

Set was cut short, due to a long set-up. So only six measly songs + outro. And I REALLY wanted to hear Vertebraille goddammit.

See you there. I got my ticket a few weeks ago. I'm a metalhead but my guilty pleasure is Silverstein and the last time I saw them in Atlanta, it was one of the most fun live shows I've ever been to.

Can't wait for them and blessthefall...been addicted to the new songs lately.

Hell yes I went in that! I dunno man, I just like scattered all over the place after I wandered away from the front area. I just moshed a couple times during blessthefall and Norma Jean. I must say blessthefall put on a really good show, despite the fact that I'm not really into their stuff. They've got a great frontman, too. And as always, Norma Jean killed it. Had a lot of fun (except when Before Their Eyes played, boring!).

New Found Glory should be even better.

Hardly any. The crowd was waaayyy lifeless. Before Their Eyes told us that we "better not act like that for the other bands" at the end of their set because no one moved an inch

I got to the very front right after Blessthefall and stayed there for Norma and Silverstein. The only problem was that there was this drunk girl right next to me and she said that she was, "going to have an orgasm" when Norma came on. She did indeed have an orgasm too. It was horrible, she was high too. Either her or the guitarist for Norma, but I doubt the guitarist was high. They're Christians, right?

NFG should be insane. I don't know what I'll do there. I got pretty 'insane' for Blessthefall, but I like NFG waaay more

And the crowd better be good in Atlanta. Last time they came to the Masq back in February, it was sold out and everyone went nuts. It was kinda weird to mosh to Silverstein but it was surprisingly fun and it was mostly a bunch of skinny emo kids so I didn't have to worry about the huge fat metal dudes like I usually do. Haha.

Vista? That's cool. I know a couple people there.

I stuck around on the right side by the stage majority of the time. When, BTE was getting off, I thought something hit me and my friend pointed to the floor and there was half of a drumstick. I guess, nobody really cared about catching it, haha.

hahaha yeah silverstein mainly attracts the emo crowd, especially a lot of kids who dont even listen to them but just go to show off their 'cool haircuts' and skinny jeans. But I'll be at that show too, I think it will be amazing.

I just got home from seeing silverstein at extreme thing in vegas. I have to say that I was disappointed. I am a huge silverstein fan, including tonight I have seen them live 3 times. I will admit that I wasn't having the best day but the thing that ruined it was silverstein set list. They only played 2 new songs and they weren't even the best ones. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of their old songs but i really like the new cd and I wanted to here those songs live. Anyway here is the setlist I think that it is in the right order.

Already dead or Always and Never I just can't remember

Your Sword Vs. My Dagger

Smashed into pieces

Smile in your sleep

Broken stars

Vices

My heroine

Bleeds No More

I was there too. Really? They only played 8 songs, it seemed like so much more than that.

Blessthefall: (not in order)
New Song
Rise Up
To Hell and Back
A Message To The Unknown
Guys Like You
Could Tell A Love
We'll Sleep When We're Dead

Born Dead
I am the Arsonist
Apologize Cover
Smile In Your Sleep
Call it Karma
My heroine

I know but i sat and wrote them down...

I do think that I messed up the first song. It might have been fist wrapped in blood. I didnt start writing until the third song and when i listened to discovering the waterfront today and realized a messed the first song up.

Norma Jean (03/24/09 Denver, CO)

Robots: 3, Humans: 0
Like Swimming Circles
Vipers, Snakes, And Actors
Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste
A Small Spark Vs. A Great Forest
Bayonetwork
Creating Something Out Of Nothing, Only To Destroy It (portion of it only, more like an outro)

Set was cut short, due to a long set-up. So only six measly songs + outro. And I REALLY wanted to hear Vertebraille goddammit.

FUCK ME. This would be the only reason to go to the show and there's only like 2 good songs...Im not the biggest fan of the newer shit. And for Creating Something... Its the part when there like "Like bringing a knife to a gun fight", correct?

BTF on 4/14 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida played:

New song (I talked to Beau after the show, he said the song has no title yet but the new album should be out in September/October)
Guys Like You...
To Hell and Back
Rise Up
We'll Sleep When We're Dead
Could Tell a Love
A Message to the Unknown

I think there may have been one more and that's probably a little out of order but there you go lol.

ASL played mostly stuff from Rattlesnake! as well as Annexation of Puerto Rico and their Toxic cover was their closer. I think it was like 7 songs in total.

**The set is in order.
overall, great show. The crowd was insane and had soo much energy. Huge circle mosh pit the entire time. Before Their Eyes was good; only saw their last song, but I liked what I saw. A Static Lullaby had a ton of energy and the bassist was amazing, but all of their songs sounded pretty similar. Blessthefall beat Silverstein with stage presence, and their music was still really good, probably my 2nd favorite band of the night. Silvestein put on a kickass show and had great audience interaction. Josh's guitar was having some major problems, and it went off during the guitar bridge of Broken Stars, shane said "Your guitar made my dick soft" after the song. I think they had to play one or two less songs because it took so long for them to set up, due to his guitar having problems (him and the tech were working on it for a good 10 minutes). Merch was decent... I wanted to get a Silverstein shirt, but I just really didnt like any of them, so I got a poster instead

It was Bleeds No More...the mic was 2 inches from my mouth the 2nd time when it says "My Heart Bleeds No More" so that was awesome.

Overall, amazing night. My 2 friends went with me that never go to shows and it was one of my friend's first concert. They had a lot of fun too.

I think blessthefall were better but Silverstein was a very close second.

A funny/bad thing happened to me though...some random bum came up to my car when the show ended and took all 4 of my hubcaps. My friends were dying on the floor laughing.

I thought it was hilarious. :-d

hahaha! you can expect that from the masq... Did you do anything, like tell him to stop?
here is a video I took of Smile In Your Sleep last night... I took a few other vids aswell. Camera is shaky because of the moshing, but audio is great.

Well I've been to the Masq about 30 times and this is the 1st time this has happened so I think I did pretty good so far. Lol.

My friends barely go to concerts so they didn't know that 99% of the time, there's an encore so they went to the car. As they were walking they saw the guy taking them and as they got closer he ran up the hill. I was still inside so I didn't see anything.

Nice vid.

I was just about to say that. That song is by far one of the best off the new album. Shane was taking requests during one point and I yelled it out but he didnt hear me haha

My only problem with the show was that there wasn't enough songs off of the new album. I love DTWF, but I think for this tour they should've substituted 2-3 songs off of that album with American Dream, You're All I Have, and I Knew I Couldnt Trust You.

Before Their Eyes frontman seemed kinda pissed that he couldn't get the crowd moshing. The pit sparked for one moment but the crowd was still waking up. He seemed real disappointed at the end of their. He just walked off stage while the band kept playing. BTF actually put on a pretty solid performance. But things didn't get crazy until ASL came on and they killed. I was surprised. I wasn't a big fan off theres but after listening to them and checking out their cd, they won me over. A Static Lullaby sometimes sounded almost like ETID. It's a better direction for them.

Blessthefall drew the biggest crowd that night. The new vocalist fits in better and sounds a lot better than Craig Mabbit. It was pretty cool when Jared jumped into the crowd. It was like he was trying to walk on ppls head. He was right to the right of me. Actually thats exactly what he did. To Hell and Back is a fucking awesome song I can't stop listening to it. But yeah I had a good time.

Ah...and Silverstein. Not a big fan. I only like one song from them. I think the crowd got smaller when they came on. sorry :)

Never was a fan of the vocals(Silverstein). Sounds a little better live but the band is pretty average for me. They didn't suck totally though. :)

Oh and blessthefall, I'm not sure. It was my first time listening to them. I checked out a video later for that Higinia song and it didn't sound familiar so I think they left that song out. I was really impressed by this band. I can't wait for the new album.

Oh yeah, that guy Mabbit. I downloaded two songs off of amazon Higinia and Rise Up. His voice is really high and wavy at times. I can't stand it. I'm glad I didn't buy the album. Whatever direction ETF is going for, mabbit fits right in with them. I think the trade off was right for both of those bands.

The new guy bokan should stick to singing, jared has a really good scream vox thing going. It's really a toss up between A Static Lullaby and Blessthefall, those bands owned the night. If anyone goes to these show you should definitely buy ASL new cd. It's actually good compared to their older stuff.

I think Silverstein would have been better as an alternative rock band. Smile in You Sleep is probably one of the best songs they've ever written. They should've game up that post/hardcore shit long ago otherwise their fan base won't grow with them. Not to say it's bad. I just don't think it always works for them all the time. The new album starts off pretty good. I don't like to bash bands certain, especially if I see some good quality in them so yeah. they're ok. I'm just not a fan.

Blessthefall definitley owned the night. Beau's clean vocals definitley top Craig's. I really enjoyed their preformance, especially A Message to the Unknown and THAB. Also when Beau flipped into the crowd-that was definitley sick.
For ASL, I'm not much of a fan of them but they did pretty well. And damn, they can pull off Toxic.

Update about the show.

I went to the show at lupos, in providence.
pretty good performance all around, I bought myself the BTF shirt that says "Bless The Mothereffing Goshdarn Fall (Beatch).
After reading how the BTE vocalist was pissed about not being able to move the crowd, i went up and told him about how i thought he did a good job. i think its that BTE is relatively new (at least to my knowledge). But some kids were there singing along with the words and during Because 7 ate 9 the crowd got decent.

I was suprised at A static lullaby. Their set was okay, he didnt seem to care the crowd wasnt too into it. During the third or so song i was dancing and got thrown up into the air and landed on my elbow. Or a scene girl. one or the other. The highlight of their set was the Toxic cover, the whole crowd got into it and loved it. All the drunk moms and fat girls in tank tops came up and danced with the band onstage. it dampered the effect just a little bit. and it made me neausaus while waiting for Blessthefall to come on. That could have been the wendy's too.

Now, blessthefall. I had talked to Beau before the show and he seemed really excited to play in providence. they said it was his first time in providence, but he was there last summer with Emarosa when i saw them at the living room. so it seemed a little bit strange. One way or another, Blessthefall fucking killed it. The crowd was fucking insane, ( i didnt dance for btf, i watched). Beau interacted with the crowd well (he grabbed one of my best friends by the head and did the screaming during To Hell and Back. I liked how he constructed the wall of death, which was fucking fun. Their set was amazing. and Blessthefall is one of the best bands ive ever seen live. I didnt stay for silverstein, but i wish i had, the crowd was getting excited for them and i would have loved watching. Good show all in all.

04/23/09, 01:07 PM
I went to providence too, and was really let down by the crowd.I drove from massachusetts, and i don't think I will ever pay money to go there again, unless maybe for chiodos. All in all it was a really good show as far as the bands were concerned.

BTE- I didn't know them at all prior to the show but was really impressed.

ASL- I have been a big fan of their old CD because that's all I had, but their new direction is definitely much better. Something about their screamer really bugs me, but I can see past that. Their bassist is the effing man. bottom line.

BTF- amazing, amazing, amazing. as expected.

Silverstein as always was spot on live, and sounded perfect. The new CD gives their set a more balanced feel then usual and I loved it. an encore of My heroine, I am the Arsonist, and Bleeds no More in that order, is perfect.

The music all around was sick, but providence crowd you are an epic fail. Worcester is much better.

I was talking to Shane and Josh after the show about being a vegetarian on the road and told them about a local place called Dog Town that has veggie dogs, burgers, etc. They said it sounded really cool and might want to try it. I went to Dog Town after the show, and Dog Town got a call from a band in Canada wondering if the people from the concert were there.
