I'm sorry but this is really stupid...I really hope it was hokey plan made by the label cause if the bands think they're that high and mighty to have a frikkin contest for this, that's retarded...my friend's band gets on opening shows for big bands easy just by talking to the people at the venue and contacting the band..they opened for a little band called story of the year just by showing Dan how nice of guys they were and he liked their stuff...he didn't make it a contest

speakerfire by far has the most talent and should win this, but they wont because they arent a screamo scene band. kick williams is pretty decent too, but they're not scene either, so no luck for them

Sydney is an amazing band with incredible talent for anyone to say they don't deserve it or sucks has no ears at all. Secondly this is just a smart marketing move, sure ANYONE can get a deal to open for a good band thru connections but this way it exposes bands to people who might not get the chance to hear it. For example sydney is my choice. For kids in the NY area who dont know them great oppertunity for them to at least check them out to see if they'd like them. This is a smart move i think, its fun as well

why would people whore themselves out for saosin? dude, if this was a monumental band, i could see the urgency, but saosin isn't a household name, except for people who delve deeper than the radio/mtv forefront. if this was a contest to open up for green day or something, it would be much better rooted, because the payoff would be really big. this is really just a giant attention scheme that gives me the feeling that saosin (or whoever makes their decisions) are a bit on the shady side.

Hey everybody...

Everyone knows that these things are a popularity contest. The bands will each do their best to rally as many votes as they can. My band For The Horizon is on there, and for days and all nighters we have been online, nonstop trying ot get votes.

This is a chance for a dream come true for us... For The Horizon would not exist if Saosin had never been...

So i'm here asking everyone:

don't vote because you've heard of a band. Go to every bands myspace, and make the decision yourself on who should be able to open for Saosin.
