Haha then you made the right choice:)
I voted Trans because it is amazing. Also because it brings back memories of the love of my life(although she's dumped me and I now can't listen to it without being pissed haha).

My personal choice was Narrow Stairs, only because my absolute favourite song byDCFC is Cath.
But, right behind Narrow Stairs would definitely be Transatlanticism and Photobooth.

Transatlanticism all the way
Plans is somewhat close though
it just can't compare
It doesn't have a song that comes close to "We looked like Giants" or "Transatlanticism"

Trans, just because I got into The Postal Service at the same time and Ben Gibbard became a staple in my life for the next few years.
The first album I heard Of DCFC's was Trans.
And after that, I searched for more.
And The Postal Service came up,
I was amazed.
So, I continued my search for more of Ben Gibbard's work.

Something About Airplanes > We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes > Transatlanticism > The Photo Album > Plans > Narrow Stairs
They're all fucking good though, but that's the order I'd put them in if I had to.

transatlanticism >> plans > something about airplanes > photo album >> narrow stairs >>>>>>>>>>>>>> we have the facts
the first five are actaully all really good though, plans/SAA/PA are so close their order is almost interchangable depending on my mood -- if i want to hear piano-led music that tugs the heartstrings its plans; if i want to hear something cute, modest, and catchy its photo album; if i want to hear something quirky and different from everything else i listen to, its SAA.

lol unfortunately, I spent half my years in high school believing that the only place you could discover new music was the radio. Obviously I was sadly mistaken, and I moved on to bigger and better things haha.

I gotta go with plans. Trans is a great record, but some of the songs on Plans just hit me way differently, and I learned to love it more.

oh hell to the yes, in my opinion, based on the music ive heard, a pop/rock album has not been more well written or well-produced since abbey road, even if it is more psychedelic pop than anything. flaming lips are ridiculously good at what they do.

Personally it's between Trans and Narrow Stairs, but I knew that's what everyone else would be voting for. So I went with Something About Airplanes, the first Death Cab I ever heard, even though it's spelled wrong.

I knew these rankings would be very very different than how I rank them. If
I ranked just their full length studio albums it looks like this for me:
we have the facts and we're voting yes
photo album
something about airplanes
transatlanticism
plans
narrow stairs
As stated in another thread, I really enjoy them all except for NS which I enjoy some of the songs on but was disappointed in as a whole. So dont look at trans or plans so low and think I dislike them. I really like those albums.
I think the biggest difference in my list versus some other peoples' lists here is age I suppose. I picked up my first death cab album *10 years ago.* when a friend burned me "something about airplanes" and "you can play these songs with chords." And I say that not because it makes me a bigger better fan than any of you or something silly like that (because it does NOT so lets get that straight since some people do try to spin age that way and I don't want my post to be taken like that) but because their albums that affected me the most were the ones that I was listening to around the age that some of you are now or were when trans came out. (if that makes any sense).
i distinctly remember going to the record store in Charlotte to pick up "we have the facts and we're voting yes" the day it came out and I was about 16 (and had actually just met the girl recently at that time that I am marrying this year haha). So by the time trans came out for me, I had already been heavily impacted by chords, airplanes, facts, photo album, forbidden love, stability etc. so I can definitely understand why people love trans and plans so much, but for me, while I loved those albums, I had already been heavily impacted by dcfc and it's hard for a great band to make the same impact on me several albums into their career sometimes that their early albums did.
I dono maybe that all came out gibberish and no one understood what I meant haha.
