Does anyone take this? I might have to start taking it, but I hate when medicines make me feel jittery or paranoid or some other werid shit. I just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it.

Thanks

I never have either (except for allergy medicine...i'm not a geek). But this semester has been much tougher than usual, and nothing in my study habbits have changed (that I know of), so my doctor gave me some low dose samples of Strattera to try. When I was refering to medicine that makes me feel weird, I meant I'd taken it after surgeries, or something of that matter.

I have a friend that takes it for ADD so she can concentrate better. it took like 2 months to build up enough in her system to actually work and she says it helps but only if you make sure you take it at the exact time every day and dont miss a dose. it needs to be consistent to work.

You don't happen to know if it ever made her shaky or nervous/paranoid, do you? I just want to know because over the summer I had to use Albuterol, and it made me so nervous I could barley ride in a car. Almost like having a really bad case of claustrophobia. At one time I tried to open the car door while we were still driving. :shake:

I never have heard her complain and she has been taking it since last Spring. She is naturally hyper because of the ADD and can't concentrate and after taking it, it just helps her focus for longer periods of time. She has never said anything about being shaky or paranoid. But everyone is different, have you been tested for ADD? Basically what is the dr.'s reason in giving you samples, especially since it is a drug that has to build in the system for 6-8 weeks to work. Also all this information I got from her, it could be wrong, you might only need one dose.

The doctor is a family friend that knows me pretty well, so he knows something might be up when I told him what was going on with school. I've never been tested for ADD, mainly because my parents, nor myself, ever really thought that I might have it. We just kind of thought of it as "oh, they'll tell anyone that procrastinates that they have ADD."

I do. not strattera but i take concerta. it really really helps, as much as i hate taking it.. just cause i feel like a retarded like.. i have to take this to function. but 2 years ago i was failing all my classes so badly. the next year, (year i started it) passed all my classes with 80s or higher. as soon as you pick up a pencil you will notice a huge difference in your handwriting.. its really weird.

sometimes i imagine doing that just to see what happens. like the time in 5th grade when I shoved a plastic ruler into the spinning belt of a radiator.
