Fan Reports In: "Last night in Dayton Ohio, Green Day (www.greenday.com) made up for the show the previously had to cancel. They played American Idiot straight through, along with all of their classics later on in the set. Also today, is the 17th year anniversary since their first show. Last nights show was the last on the American Idiot Tour, and they played over 2 1/2 hours. It was a great show, worth the fact they cancelled, because all of the fans got to see a rare Rock Opera all the way through."

I saw them in 2001 and they were superb.
This is one reason green day will always be one of the best bands, Also easily one of the best live shows i've ever seen.

I was at the show last night and it was the best concert i have seen them put on...I almost creamed when they said they were playing American Idiot all the way through. I also shit when they played welcome to paradise and she...i have not heard them play those in a long time. Totally worth the cancellation

green day's a good live band except for the fact that they recycle their show. when i went to see them a few months ago, it was the exact same show that i saw last year. even the gimmics in between songs. lame.

well, about them 'recycling' their set. the second leg of the AI Tour was meant to be merely an extension for people who didn't catch it the first go 'round. Sadly, that meant the setlist stayed relatively similar (there was one song that got rotated through b/c the set I saw in Atlanta was slightly different that the one in Charlotte). On the other hand, it's a such a superb live show that I can forgive that. Nothing will beat the 2000-1 shows where they bounced around their entire catalogue, playing rarities such as The Ballad of Wilhelm Fink to fan favorites like Brat and Only of You. ah, how i love this band.

Someone should have sent a report in about the show at the Warfield in San Francisco last week. The Network opened (GD, obviously), and Green Day played for nearly three hours. They played American Idiot, front-to-back, and then the usual encore songs (Minority, Longview, Good Riddance). But when they came back for the second encore, they were taking requests and were playing tons of cover songs by bands like the Replacements, the Clash, Billy Idol, Cheap Trick, etc. And then, of course, they played some older tunes such as "Christie Road," "Disappearing Boy," "Coming Clean," and even "J.A.R." Pretty cool. And this was all at some tiny little venue. I heard the show ended at 1:30AM and a few people got stranded because the BART (the transportation service over there) had stopped by then.
Long reply. Oh well.

You're just a fucking idiot. When bands had talent? Green day earned everywhere they have been, from selling albums out of the back of their vans to sleeping in peoples lawn's. I think green day has inspired more bands that play the type of music we hear today than any one band out there.
Fucking idiot.

i could see them playing stuff from kerlplunk but most of the stuff from 1039 is pretty meh. when i saw them in 2000-2001 with blink they played stuff from kerplunk and it was awesome.
give them another yr or so. once the new cd is played out they can mix in more of the old stuff. i see greenday becoming like dmb. there are so many songs that in the transition phase from one cd to the set lists vary a lot.

i tried to go to that show..tickets for it sold out in about 10 seconds. i couldnt believe it. it was basically a luck of the draw cause it was 40000 people trying to get 5000 tickets. now i really wish i couldve gone, sounds like it was awesome. :(

thats awesome, they really know how to hold a fan base. look at them, their album is still selling like crazy. they are very appealing. and when they actually make a live show worth the fans money, you see how its so easy for millions of people to buy their albums.
oh, and speaking of GD...
everyone loves american idiot, its the big seller. and i like it. but i tell you, about 2 years ago, i went back to the album i originally did not like very much, Warning, and i loved it. very underrated album. if you didnt like it first time around, give it another chance.
Yea. Everybody at my school went to this show. I counted the Greenday shirts that I saw today, and the total was 24. I was considering going because Jimmy Eat World was going to be here, but then Greenday cancelled, and JEW couldnt come back here. So I said screw it.

i usually get bored if a band plays more than an hour and leave, but green day played 2 1/2 hours when i saw them in cleveland (they played american idiot all the way through minus about 3 songs) and i didn't get bored once. i could've sat there another 2 hours if i had to, no problem. best show of my life.
