They promote at like every fucking show. It's ridiculous. I always see those guys outside passing out fliers. I liked the singer's old band Farewell Anthem better, though. :blah:

This band is a ballon of awesomeness that will explode in your face! Semper Phi 1168 has been in my 25 most played song on my iPod since I DLed it. They need to be on warped so bad, someone tell kevin lyman. Now put that in your stiring pot and stir it.

so anyone else heard/like any of the other bands on this show? The forecast is from my hometown peoria, and the guys in Blame Twilight are freakin amazing. Needless to say this will be a sweet show to go the day after seeing Thrice and Underoath at the riviera.

yeah.
Mikey Russel used to play guitar/sing in 504plan. Now sings/plays guitar in wax on radio.
Bob Buckstaff used to playguitar/sing in Farewell Anthem. Now plays only guitar in wax on radio.
If there were more bands like this in Tucson, man. All we have is The Bled and Versus the Mirror and generic stuff like that.
Edit: Although, I think Calexico is from Tucson...

this band is better then most of the shit comin out of chicago. its different, and very original. reminds me a little of mars volta. i think they are an amazing band. i cant wait till the ep comes out. i used to love mikeys old band 504 plan. isnt tom in the academy is? is the old drummer or basisst in any band?

You can tell Kevin.. so do it! I can also tell Kevin to shove a cupcake up his ass, chances are he won't. I have flooded that mans e-mail with my suggestions for Warped Tour 06. Chances of him listening to me, not likely. I Think after the sixth thousand e-mail that said, My Chemical Romance he kinda said "Eh fuck it." Anyway enough about that....... WOR's music is fucking Epic, I don't expect people who seek out easy targets like fall out boy to talk shit about anonymously to understand what good music is, those people like to hide behind the masses, too scared to form their own opinions in fear that someone who knows more then them, might call them out. I mean God forbid you don't know the name of every At The Drive In song in alphabetical order at a moments notice. Seriously why all this anger towards Fall Out Boy, Did pete forget your name when he came to town? Or did he refuse to call your friend Mikey and tell him why he's an idiot for not coming to the show? enough is enough.

My super poser/slutty groupie of an ex-girlfriend is friends with Harrison on MySpace and hangs out with him when she goes to Chicago and rubs it in my face. Either way, I still like the music a lot. I miss 504 Plan though.

yeah well since half the bands that have been signed from here are signed by fbr or decaydance ( i wonder whose influnece made that happen?) and the most of the rest to victory (who need to keep their quota up of signing 58 bands a year so they dont have to promote them and use em as write offs when people forget they exist two months after their cd came out.)
Hell the only band I can think of thats gotten signed lately without fobs assistance is Ryan's Hope. Well there will be another soon, but I cant talk about that, but its kind of out of left field a bit.

Dude. You know NOTHING about our scene, you live in fucking california. when you move here and learn how fake and useless it is once you get past that yummy candy coating and realize that its empty on the inside then you will get it. 98% of chicago bands are trend hopping, do whatever it takes to get signed, unorignal crap. I've seen bands change styles at the tip of a hat if they thought it would make them successful.
So when youre done bending over and taking it from falloutboy and want to have an intelligetn conversation about what actually goes on here and what you think is going on from your high vantage in lala-land let us know.
By the way, WOR is not epic. Its boring. I've seen them a few times and I've seen them clear out rooms because they are incredibly boring live. Unless they are going to have a naptime tent and warped tour (insert your own age realted warped tour joke here) they'd be a damn poor fit.

Wax On Radio puts on a sweet show.
My friend's cousin, Sammy is the drummer & he's an insanely cool guy. They work their butts off to promote, so give them credit.
Def!netly check out this show.

just because they don't flail their guitars or wear eyeliner doens't necessarily mean they are boring live. while they don't necessarily move around and "entertain," they're all great musicians and put out more sound than any other band in the chicagoland area, except pelican and tortoise. it's a shame that they get pigeonholed into the scene just because they're a young band. they deserve to play to crowds that appreciate what they're putting out, not kids that think the fall out boy, june and audition records are the greatest thing to come out of chicago in the past ten years.

Dude. I never claimed to know of your scene. The whole thing is all good and plenty about the bands changing their style but what the fuck does that have to do with taking cheap shots at Fall Out Boy. God, shoot those guys for making the kind of music people like and try to copy, because it really pisses normitron off. Now if your saying Wax on Radio did that then you had some what of a valid point but you weren't saying that...you were just taking time to show all the kiddy's in APnet land that your so funny. So continue talking crap about a band you dislike but can't resist to bring up when no one else is talking about them. Intelligent conversation welcomed.
