So apparently Ben's thread no longer exists....hmm....But if the thread does indeed still exist, just link it here, because I can't find it. If it doesn't exist, just let me know.

Anyway, appreciate.

I don't think so. He was back posting a couple days ago. Unless he got banned again already, ha. I hope not though.

No idea. I had heard he was initially on a six month ban. It looks like he's totally gone though. Weird. I didn't even notice.

Nice OP, jerk. ;-)

Haha, kidding too. But yeah, Gram Parsons is great. Pretty under-appreciated around here, it seems.

Haha, I thought you liked Ryan Adams? Oh well.

But eh, I don't know. I'm a bigger fan of Ryan, but Gram was more consistent. Tough call. I think ultimately Gram was the better songwriter, I just enjoy Ryan's stuff a bit more, personally.

I do. The forum was dead that day and I was trying to stir up some controversy. I was listening to a bunch of Ryan yesterday because I downloaded a bunch of his unreleased stuff that I had been missing.

Ah, I gotcha. I don't venture into General much at all, but I understand he's pretty well loved in there, isn't he?

That's cool though. Have you seen his cover of "Return of the Grievous Angel" with Emmylou? It's pretty sweet.

I am always annoyed that he only did vocals for two songs on Sweetheart of the Rodeo.

The Byrds never did anything for me.

I just like that record due to buying into the Gram Parsons myth haha. Their Dylan covers have always kind of bugged me oddly enough.

That's not so much odd as it is expected.

Valid point. Many people think I just automatically love any song related to Dylan in any way.

I wish Parsons had stayed in bands longer though simply because it wreaks havoc on my last.fm

On topic, I only have Grievous Angel, what should I check out next?

See, I figured you automatically carried disdain for Dylan covers. I'm that way with quite a few of my favorites.

GP, The Gilded Palace Of Sin, and Burrito Deluxe.

Thanks, will check some of that out.

I'd say GP first since I always preferred Gram "solo" more than his work with The Flying Burrito Brothers.

Agreed, always preferred the solo stuff.

Listening to The Gilded Palace of Sin, my first non-Byrds Parsons record, and I really like this style. Could definitely get into more of his material.
