so, here we have two stars engaging in criminal activity, but one might walk away with probation charges. first, there's michael vick who was involved in dog fighting and personally killing dogs. He is serving a 24 month sentence in prison.
then, we've got chris brown who beat up rihanna and he might walk away with probation. thoughts?

Hitting a dog makes you an animal criminal.
Hitting a woman makes you a criminal animal.

i think my real point is that if michael vick gets time for killing dogs, but chris brown gets a slap on the wrist, are our priorities a little mixed up? i would like to see chris brown get time.

Rihanna was the one who doesn't want to press charges (according to the news)

Mike Vick is an idiot for what he did, but Chris Brown straight beat the shit out of another human being. It wasn't like it was just one slip up on Rhianna, he gave her the bizz

Chris Brown needs jail time for sure. It's pretty damn ridiculous tha Rhianna isn't pressing charges.

Although Vick's acts were deplorable, it doesn't get much worse than a man beating a woman.

I picked Vick. I like animals more than humans. They don't talk back...like Rhianna must have:)
P.S. It's a joke don't get bent out of shape. I still picked Vick though.

Vick. Rihanna got beat up a bit, but Vick tortured and killed dogs. This shouldn't even be a question.

The real criminal is our stupid society the holds celebrities to such high standards. Sure both of these dudes fucked up really badly but the same situations go unnoticed with "regular" people. As for the whole they are under public scrutiny and need to act accordingly argument its complete bullshit. Who the fuck are we do judge them?
No one said they need to act accordingly because they are under public scrutiny. Asking anybody, celebrity or not, to NOT hit a girl and NOT kill dogs is not a ridiculous thing to do, and we have every right to judge it. As far as I can tell, neither of these guys is being judged harsher than any "regular" person would be in the same situation.

Chris Brown didn't kill Rhianna. I'm not defending him, but anyone who votes Brown over Vick deserves to get kicked in the ballsack.

the validity of the claim or question is not the subject. if your opinion's not helping/pushing the conversation, what's the point? please explain how your comment was necessary, i'd love to know.

Of course their actions were heinous, I'm not denying that, but the shit they did happens with regular people but it doesn't get this kind of attention. Domestic abuse happens constantly, often more brutal than what Chris Brown did, and it doesn't make the news. People fight dogs constantly as well but that rarely would make the news unless its some huge group. The reason they are judged harsher is the sheer amount of coverage on their crimes. Say I brutally assaulted somebody and it received 2-3 newspaper articles but with Vick and Brown there are over 100 articles a peice slamming the shit out of them.
I'm still not sure how increased coverage makes society "the real criminal" in all of this.

I said Vick, he killed which was bad enough, but he also abused a ton of the dogs. What Brown did was totally wrong, but he just did it to one person..

He wet dogs and electrocuted them, hung them, made them fight to the death, etc. He killed them. It's hard to say which is worse but killing made me go with Vick. Dogs have a level of consciousness that I think it's amazing that people kill them. That's not to say what Chris Brown did wasn't absolutely horrible. He should be jailed too.
I mean this poll really is just a question of the level of value people place on a dog's life.

i think you're trying to compare beating to: drowing, electricuting, shooting, caging, forcing to fight to the death....is there really a comparison?

im pretty sure some people are trying to say that killing something/someone is not as bad as hitting a woman.....

I'm not saying what Chris Brown did wasn't wrong, because it was, but at least he didn't murder Rhianna. Michael Vick killed another(quite a few of them) living thing.

Especially a woman? What's so different from hitting a woman, and hitting a man? Just because some wemon are weaker than men, doesn't mean that they are defenseless. There are many people out there that commit worse crimes than hitting on their spouces, and they don't get jail time, or even a "Slap on the wrist".

I'd like to point out that Chris Brown didnt KILL Rihanna. also, while it is no excuse for his actions, she must have said or done something to set him off. those dogs never did anything to Vick. In any case, both crimes were heinous and they both should be punished

I personally value the well-being of a human over that of a dog. Even though I do think Vick is a piece of shit, I still have to go with Chris Brown.
