Paul Benson, drummer for This Providence (http://www.thisprovidence.com/), has left the band. Here is the band's statement about the situation.
Our drummer, Paul Benson has decided that his future does not lie with This Providence. Before any rumors start we would like to clarify that this isn't the result of any arguments, or personal disagreements within the band. Simply put, he does not feel that this is where he is called to be anymore. As a band we have been coming to somewhat of a crossroads as of late, a lot more is at stake, and for him to continue to be in the band without 100% commitment would be wrong. He is still a very close friend of ours, and we're confident that it will remain that way. However, we can assure you that we will not be allowing this situation to slow us down. A friend of ours by the name of Ryan Tapert will be taking over the position for all upcoming shows, as well as recording the next album. You can meet him by checking out his myspace right here (http://www.myspace.com/drum_king). We're really excited about what the future holds for This Providence, and we'd like to thank all of you for continuing to support us! See you at the shows!

I'd like to personally wish Paul the best of luck in all his future endeavors - He's a great friend, an even better guy, and I certainly hope he is able to find what he's looking for.
