It's out there.

I don't know whether I should consider listening to this band a guilty pleasure or not (and I don't really listen to this style of music anymore) but they definitely keep my interest, and I really enjoyed the album "Our Bodies" (review: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=564541) (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=564541%29). This new album seems decent from first listen...watchyall think, for those who have it?

They can pull off the screaming/singing style way better than new Saosin, that's for sure.

RIYL: Oh Sleeper/Saosin/As Cities Burn.

I haven't listened.. From what I remember of their older stuff it was real generic but pretty good, right?

Yeah, it's nothing really new or anything, but they do what they do pretty well. They have pretty unique vocals and a lot of energy which definitely helps.

Yeahhh, Myspace is kind of wack. It's working on and off for me. They have the full new EP on purevolume, I think. I think I still like their last one a little better, but it's pretty much the same in terms of their style.

I actually really like them. You should check out one of their shows if you get the chance. I saw them when they opened for As Cities Burn and they made the crowd go nuts.

I hear they are pretty freaking good live. I'd love to see them with As Cities Burn someday.

Yeah, I really like it too. I'm not sure about the dressed up part, but it's totally possible (after all Cove from Saosin doesn't sound remotely as good live as he does on his Saosin cds). Guess I'd have to see 'em live to find out. Also, I don't know if the lead singer of Belle screams, or if there's someone else, but the screams are pretty legit/powerful.

I still haven't checked out this band. I've heard good stuff about them though.

ehh, Every time I've seen Cove he's been on his A game.

I really enjoy this, still, for what it is. They can write damn catchy songs.

I checked these guys out awhile ago and thought they sounded decent. They didn't impact me enough to keep track of them or buy any of their music, though.

Wait, never mind. They're kind of generic and that's being kind.

Ordinary band is ordinary

I remember seeing these guys when they were first starting off in the local scene in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They were pretty mediocre to me.

I heard Cody from As Cities Burn sings on one of the songs on this album. Can anyone confirm this?

Between the our bodies ep and wicked ones and thieves, belle epoque is making a lot of progress in a short span of time. They should tour more cities.

I like both of the EPs, but I am interested in seeing what they could do with a full-length. The newer EP reminds me of Chasing Victory a little bit.

anyone heard of Broadway? Same dudes, but pre-Belle Epoque. It used to be all screaming, and it was pretty brutal/throaty but the vocalist quit the band for some reason.

"AM: Do you think that was at all influenced by the fact that Cody Bonnette produced the EP?

KI: I think that we got Cody’s number from David’s brother and prank called him one night. Throughout the conversation the topic of him producing came up and we jumped on it. He was working with Tyler Orr at First Street Studios in Tennessee, so we just booked a week there to record with Tyler and Cody. It was a crazy experience. It was our first time recording out of state and we really bonded as songwriters. Cody and Tyler were very real in the recording process so that EP [Our Bodies] is real raw and full of emotion. Cody was great to work with and it was a really big deal for the rest of the guys to be able to record with someone they looked up to musically. It was kind of funny throughout the week trying to get Cody to commit to doing some guest vocals or guitar and he would always kind of shy about being on our EP. Well finally on like the last day, I’m recording screams and Cody just jumps out of his chair and says something like ‘Dudes, you’ve gotta let me scream…I’m dying to scream’. So he laid down some of the screams on “Living Life Never Made You Alive”, along with some guitar work on a part. The song “Our Bodies” was heavily influenced by Cody, since we wrote it in the studio. We pretty much gave him free reign on that song to take our ideas and do whatever he wanted with them. I’d say he helped us mold that into a pretty powerful song. It was only fitting that we had him sing on it."

This was on the old one...

For the new one they only mention:

"Track 3, “We Are the Bold” is the ‘rock’ song of the cd…Imagine if Thrice and The Toadies birthed a song, “We Are the Bold” would be their offspring.
Track 5, “And We Will Be Delivered” is pretty much the song that ties everything together; Heavy, Catchy, Dark, Brutal. Micah from Oh, Sleeper does some guest vocals that top this song off with a brutal cherry. This song is probably the most personal song I’ve written lyrically…you’ll just have to listen to it."
