"I don't think that a lot of my favorite producers or bands would produce our albums or even play on them, unfortunately"

Well at least hes got the balls to admit NFG has absolutly no credibility in the music scene anymore...

I enjoy a little NFG every now and then, and I have nothing against jordan, but I think I would like this band a lot more if Chad did more of the vocals.

I like NFG, so if they wanna change for the better I have no problem with it.

New Found Glory will always be a guilty pleasure of mine. Their self titled album is still one of my favorite albums. It was one of the first albums that got me into the music I listen to now. Sticks and Stones and Catalyst didn't steer too far away from that album, so it'll be nice to see what direction these new songs go in. I remember seeing these guys at Warped Tour in 2002 and despite having audio problems(Jordan's mic kept cutting out), they were damn good. Then about a year ago, I saw them open for Green Day and they just didn't do the Warped performance justice. Jordan was like out of breath during the songs and sounded like he had a cold. Just...disappointing. I hope this album surprises everyone, including me.

I found the Darth Vader thing hilarious.
"If someone hits Darth, it's an automatic home run." ;)

Anyway, I love NFG...so I'm anxious to hear some new stuff from them.

i said this about catalyst and i'll say it again about this one if they're going to change they should change for the better by like putting chad's shai hulud past in the mix. like dude the best song on catalyst is the intro and i dont see why they didnt continue to make more songs like that. it was awsome. oh well sounds like another let down. i'm done with them later dudes

I love all their albums, but espc. Self Titled and Nothing Gold Can Stay, 2 of my favorite albums to this day even though I'm not into pop punk as much as I was. Cant wait for new stuff.

exactly same. haha. I'm really interested to hear how their music changes. I love this band and I'm sure they won't dissapoint me. I found the darth vader story to be a little off topic but funny nonetheless.

10/20/05, 08:05 PM
They brought me into this genre as well as saves the day and thus that reserves them the right to do whatever they want and I will still stand by them. I will admit catalyst wasnt the best album ever, but it was still good. Honestly though I think more maturity was what catalyst needed and so I'm happy.

In a selfish way I dislike how bands feel the need to "mature" or "progress". Sometimes I think certain bands perfect a formula, and I don't care what technicality level it is at. Just pump out some more tunes.

i love NFG. everytime i listen to them, i get nostalgic. i personally can not wait for this album. it'll be interesting to hear Jordan'd vocals in this one. isn't Dewey (Reggie and The Full Effect/ex-Get Up Kids) in NFG now playing keyboards full time?

No, James is not in NFG. At one time I remember them saying he'd be a full time member, but shortly after their last tour, they said this was not true.

i dont get many of the people in this forum, just last week there was an article, again from MTV, on how yellowcard had "matured." And with that article, you guys tore yellowcard apart. Yet with NFG it's "oh man, i cant wait.. woooo"

people are fuckin rediculous

Im obviously a huge NFG fan but this makes me nervous , like I said before i'm not a huge fan of this new wave of " bands maturing , or changing their sound". But I trust NFG to keep bringing in the good tunes.

I love just about everything NFG has put out. Every time I purchased one of their CDs it stayed in my cd player for months at a time. Nothing Gold Can Stay was a great way to kick off, From The Screen To Your Stereo was awesome because the Karate Kid rocks, Self Titled was wonderful, Sticks and Stones is one of my favorite albums ever, and Catalyst is an interesting twist on the good old NFG. I've been between S&S and Catalyst in my cd player for the past few days. On top of my love for their albums, I absolutely love their live show. I saw them back before the self titled came out and I thought their energy was phenominal, and it was still just as awesome back when I saw them at the Back To Basics tour earlier this year.

NFG is one of the most deserving bands of every bit of success they've had, and they are definitely one of my favorite bands ever.

wow wasn't sure if i was gonna like that or not, but im blown away and really digging this band..thanx for the rec.
I was also rather surprised, and I really enjoy it. The forced scream in the second song is weak, but the rest of it is pretty solid.

Maybe it's because YC (without Ben) are a bunch of dicks and NFG are some of the nicest guys you'll find in this genre. Maybe because YC is just trying to cash in, while NFG has a true love and passion for what they do. I dunno, NFG is a band I will always love and respect because they give that right back to their fans.

i have a lot of love for this band, cuz becoming obsessed with them at the end of high school led me discover many aweome bands. i don't really know how far removed they can get from their previous work, but i'm definitely curious what this new direction sounds like.

It's funny how people have so many different opinions on what NFG albums they like or what was their best work..........personally i love them all and i'm not worried what their next ablum is gonna sound like because they never disappoint. The fact that they are great guys and put on one of the best live shows will always keep me a fan.

well because doing the same thing over and over again gets boring and this leads to bands disbanding because they get bored. it'd be like trying to stay 15 years old your entire life, not too appealing after a while. but you've got your opinion so i'll respect that.

theres never reason to worry about what nfg releases, its always gold.
i think it will be interesting to see if they stick with neal avron on this one or have someone else produce. i loved his work on the past 3 albums, but i've always been interested in hearing another producers take on their sound.

the only thing that makes me believe this will be different is how he mentions that on the last album there weren't really songs he wanted to put on there. Half-hearted attempt to put out an album. Here he seems more into the process. I can't wait to hear something 'new'.

I think thats a little harsh, while the scene becomes diluted by the day and major labels are scooping up any band they can to cash in on a trend that, frankly, caught me by complete surprise we must remember the bands who broke out before it was as easy (i use easy lightly of course because the more bands that become popular the more appear to try) as it is today. I worry that "credibility" is becoming a meaningless word as less bands that have played for a long time establishing their own "credibility" only to be outdone by a band that just happens to play the right show in long island to be noticed. On the other hand, one cannot argue with change and New Found Glory should undoubtedly get with the times or face the fate of many other bands that have fallen by the wayside

thats good about jordan's vocals changing for the better, because i love jordan to death but his vocals on catalyst sucked (except for i don't wanna know). I can't wait for this album...it should be AMAZING...hopefully not too heavy tho, chads metal influences need to stay out...

sticks and stones was by far the best album...we can only hope for another only 10 times better

i heart jordan

NFG is the shit. I remember I use to love 'em then they got big, and I hated it. I thought I was cool because I was the only one who liked them, then they got big and I talked trash about them. Now, I love them again... I was thinking about it the other day, it's just music. If some scene kid is going to talk shit to me about me liking a band that has done more for the scene then whatever they have on their iPod, that's cool. The is scene lame right now anyways...
