mewithoutYou was incredible, but they only played two songs i recognized.

jesse didn't give a title for the new song, but he said it's unsure of whether or not it will make the record.

setlist was awesome, so was the band... hate to admit that i was kind of dissapointed when i met jesse... he was standing on the side just watching mewithoutyou, and i didnt want to bother him so i just stook my hand out to shake his hand and i said a kind "thankyou" for what his lyrics have done for me emotionally over the past 7 years of my life, and all he said was "just trying to watch the set man" and stuck out his left hand to quickly shake my hand, i said sorry i just wanted to say thankyou and walked away... i meant no harm, and certainly didnt want to bother him while he was watching the show, but i thought atleast he'd give me the respect of a thankyou? maybe im an idiot

i just dont get it, im so used to jesse being so appreciative to anyone that knows his lyrics, bought his album, comes to his shows etc, and hes been quoted to saying i want any fan to feel welcome to say hello before or after the show, and he made me feel like an asshole for saying one word and shaking his hand

Maybe it doesn't fit in with the other songs. Hopefully this means that the record won't just be a Devil & God rehash.

ive heard hes an asshole from a lot of people but ive also heard hes a really good guy, my opinion is that he's moody. when it comes to what hes been 'quoted' saying, bands, celebrities, and athletes all say a lot of things just to sound good

70x7 is always good to hear.

no its not. it keeps the assholes running their mouths at brand new shows, fuck that song.

That was such a good show, every song was great and the crowd wasn't too rowdy to the point where it takes away from it. It felt kind of short though, even though it wasn't really.

Really? Everything else about him has always had him saying that he wants people to steal Brand New's album, especially in that video I took in Hoboken at his solo show where he stated such.

not criticizing, but talking to him while his friends were playing is kind of rude, even if he has seen them before. let the man breathe for five minutes.

For some reason, Brand New attracts the douchiest crowds in Connecticut. Is it like this everywhere or just the Webster?

Regarding the band, there really are no words...so fucking amazing. High energy throughout the entire show, which flew by way too quickly.

For some reason, Brand New attracts the douchiest crowds in Connecticut. Is it like this everywhere or just the Webster?

Seriously. I asked one guy to back off because i was being crushed and he and his friends just laughed and fucking shoved his ass into my back even more. i'm bringing a fucking taser next time to keep the fucktards off. i think douchiness is a southwestern CT thing so if you're going to a bigger band's show, you're going to find them.

i meant no harm, and certainly didnt want to bother him while he was watching the show, but i thought atleast he'd give me the respect of a thankyou? maybe im an idit

Probably doesn't mean he's an ass because right before a show, like any other professional, he probably has his own rituals or whatever to get ready. Also, since he's obviously not in music solely for the acclaim and seems more introverted, even after years of playing he might not be comfortable with compliments and shit. He might have expected you to want to start a conversation, or maybe try and mooch like a backstage past and pretend to be best friends - they probably have to deal with all kinds of people trying to take something.

So it probably wasn't much of anything, but I'll be a bitch and mention that if you didn't want to bother him, saying nothing might have been better. But yeah, it is less exciting to tell your friends, "I was standing 5 feet away from Jesse Lacey" than "I met Jesse Lacey."

does somebody always have to suck jesse's dick? he could have been polite about it, ive heard from a few people that he can be a real ass (including someone who knows the whole band)

hes said many times he doesnt have any pregame stuff, he said thats something that brand new is unlike compared to other bands in that they just walk out and play. again, we dont need to suck his dick constantly.

The Dear Hunter played a few older songs, at least "The Procession" and "The Oracles on the Delphi Express", as well as quite a few new songs.

mewithoutYou played "Messes of Men" then 6 new songs, two of which were stories by Aaron's mother and father, "In a Sweater Poorly Knit," and ended with another new song.

Brand New was great, I did not expect them to play Seventy Times Seven and was thoroughly excited when they did.

Personally, I wasn't "sucking his dick" as you say. I have been to shows in New York where he and the rest of the band were chased down the streets of Manhattan for autographs/pictures/etc and looked totally freaked out. They are human too, let them be for a minute instead of always having to say you've met them etc etc, is my opinion.

Man, don't worry about it. He's just a regular guy, you don't know what might have happened 30 minutes before you met him. He could have met a drunk fan who pissed him off or had a fight with his g.f over the phone. A friend of mine did kind of the same thing to a fan because he had just fallen out with his g.f on the phone. Then this girl proceeded to call said friend out online and called him every name under the sun. Don't worry I'm sure you caught him at a bad moment plus if you say hey again he probably won't recognize you.
