Well i wanted to start a thread about this b/c i definitely havent seen a thread like this.

I was diagnosed with that superbug staph infection called MRSA almost 3 years ago now. Luckily for me though they caught it early enough to make it die almost completely before it got too bad and started eating my skin.

My question to you guys is, Have you ever known anyone with MRSA? Do you guys know anything about it? I mean i was diagnosed with it and even i personally dont know much about it.

I figured since this is a growing epidemic in the country it would be a worthwhile post to talk about

So what are your thoughts on "uncurable" infections and diseases like MRSA, or even AIDS or anything like that?

Haha well staph infections arent contagious i dont think?

MRSA is but can only be transfered through like blood or something i some kid had some huge open wound and i bled on him lmao

But like i said im pretty sure mine is gone as it hasnt come back since my 1st and only sign of it. I think the antibiotic shit they put me on killed it before it had time to grow :]

MRSA broke out at my school last year, it seems terrible, everyone was so afraid of getting it. Mostly the people who got it were guys who played sports.

Hah yeah its because it lives and grows in the locker rooms and shit which is where the sports teams are ALWAYS at before and after practice

The Dr. said i most likely got it from just sitting on one of the benches that someone had possibly gotten sweat on, or touching a locker and then wiping my nose or something(Thats where mine popped up was my nose)

So if you think i got it because i was dirty then you're wrong lmao

Oh my god yeah project runway! I forgot about that. That guy looked like a who from the grinch or something. I remember there was a mrsa outbreak at my school (or something like it) and then a mono outbreak at the same time and I got mono from sharing my pudding. Anyway I knew a guy who had it, I'm not really sure what it is though so I dont really care about getting it.

I dont see what the problem is with not showering. The best part of not showering is when you do finally shower and the warm water goes through your hair and stuff, and then when you get out the water in your hair gets cold and drips down your body and cools you off. Plus if people have a healthy diet then they dont really smell that bad. Plus I dont think you get mrsa from being dirty.

My bio teacher last year went crazy about MRSA. She's be like "Wash your desks after you touch them with your MRSA hands and MRSA textbooks." My school also installed hand sanitizer dispensers in the cafeteria.

Someone did some crazy study and it said that 20-30% of all cell phones tested positive for MRSA but I dont get how that works.

I don't think you get MRSA from being dirty, but chances are if you shower you can get the shit off your skin.

wrong. there was an outbreak of staph at a local high school. one football player had it and he spread it to the rest of the team until it was in the airvents and shit. school was cancelled for a few days so everything could be disinfected.
