Yep, because they're shooting everyone that doesn't listen to it in the head.

Please, they aren't much different from their labelmates Motion City Soundtrack.

Actually, I didn't. Musically they are different, but lyric-wise, very similar.

They are somewhat, but not really at least I dont think they are, but I am wrong about most things so who knows

Musically, they are opposite. But lyrically (more so on Commit This To Memory), MCS has a lot of the depressing "she left me I'm no good" songs (ex. Hold Me Down, Make Out Kids).

Yea I guess on CTTTM they are sorta, but the only song on IATM that has lyrics somewhat like MR is My Favorite Accident. So I wouldnt really consider them the closest of bands.

Yeah, I was just comparing the most current releases from both bands.

I got what you are saying and I do somewhat agree with you.

Drew tries to act tough and be mean, but he just ends up handing out scenepoints by the end of it.

I don't find "Make Out Kids" to be a "she left me" type song. It's more of just pretty much to the point that friends with benefits are never really friends in the first place. But I digress. Lyrically, I don't see any comparisons between Matchbook and Motion City whatsoever, but to each their own in lyrics and that's the beauty of them.

I'm excited to hear new Matchbook, nonetheless. Part of me fears that it will sound too much like "Stories and Alibis" again instead of trying something new. Still, excited.

i'm not gonna lie, i don't see any similarities between MCS and MbR lyrics or music.

using the argument that they both have "dark, she-left-me type songs" means that Mbr is similar to virtually thousands of bands out there.

I am not to confident that this will be better than Stories and Alibies. But we'll see....

It's gonna be a good release, the label's really excited about it so you know it must be something good. My favorite song by them is "Playing for Keeps" so I hope it sounds like that.

Aight. Good news. I hope they have made a very different sounding album.

hahahahaha.

very interested in what this mbr song and album will sound like. the old songs on the last album (promise, she'll never understand) were a little out of place but the newer songs (playing for keeps, stories and alibis, my eyes burn) were very good.

that being said, the first album was a little awkward from front to back but still quite good. a new album of entirely new songs should kick things up a notch. in transit i felt was a good song so....we'll see.

she'll never understand was one of the first songs they ever wrote, back when they were The Getaway. Promise was supposed to be on their EP "... If all else Fails" which they were supposed to put out, but Mr. Brett signed them so they didn't release it publically. I have a copy of it, all of the songs on it have been released and put on WFW and YSMA so you're not missing anything. My eyes burn was written right before they got signed to epitaph (along with hollywood and vine). So, most of the songs had already been written before they put out either album.

I personally hoping Voices has more of a stories and alibis feel to it. Thursday they start rehersal and gearing up for tour. From what judas told me, he finished his part of the vocals saturday night. I can't wait.

heh, poughkeepsie and the chance are my stomping grounds....i knew everything you just told me. p-town represent eh?

i'm pretty sure she'll never understand and promise are both technically fizzlewink songs though. i could be mistaken but its a possiblity. did you get ahold of those leaked nada studio demos? it has just 3 tracks with vocals. one is my eyes burn, the other i think is hollywood and vine and the other is an unreleased untitled track. the first track opens up with "welcome to the getaway's demo something something" in some voice with an effect on it. its pretty cool. PM me if you want.
