Meeklay is one person - that's me, Mike.

As far as categorization goes, I'd say my music is most easily described as electronic pop. This is most straightforwardly present in the songs "Practice Quiet" and "35/80" (both on the MySpace link). Other bits have more of a minimalist techno vibe with some shoegaze or dream-poppy layered vocals ("Emerald Bay" or "Post Secret"). I'd like to think there are pieces of the Postal Service, the Field, Burial, and Tender Forever mixed all up in my sounds. All five tracks from my debut EP, Brookside, are up on my MySpace. Any questions or comments or whatever (including if you're daring enough to enjoy this and want a download of the EP) --> either let me know here or just e-mail me at meeklay[at]gmail.com. Thanks for your time. Cheers.

I'm from kansas too. Random. What program do you use? Sounds like fruity loops, perhaps?

Overland Park - that's where I'm from originally. I actually put Kansas 'cause I graduated from KU last year, even though I live in KC, MO now (I just don't like admitting that I have anything to do with the state of Missouri).

Actually, I used to use Fruity Loops (for about six or seven years, I guess), but my PC exploded a couple months ago and I have been using GarageBand on my new Mac since then, which is what you hear on those tracks. Maybe it's just my being "raised" on Fruity Loops that you detect in there.
