Our school is having alcohol awareness week this week (which i started off by coming to class with a massive hangover) and the poster for it are totally bastardizing the whole i thing apple beat to death. The main buzz word to this week is iChoose, and ther eare a ton of others on the posters, bu ti dont remember and im too hungover to walk and look at them.

I'm kinda pissed that i got my free ipod about a month ago, had i gotten it now, it owuld be video. :(

I'm hoping to get a 60 gig video soon. Has anybody noticed problems with it? I have about $150 saved, I'll sell my other ipod on ebay, and ask for however much is left over for Christmas. I just want to make sure it's worth all that money/effort.

the resolution is incredible. converting to MPEG is a biznotch though. very cool though. can't wait for the iTunes catalog to expand.

actually anyone who buy's an ipod video, or as apple themselves call it an ipod with "video capabilities," gets owned. the whole thing is a test to see if there is a market for a portable video player, which means within a year they will have an actual ipod video (wider-screen, even high resolution, more accepted video codecs, larger hard-drive, and so on and so forth). but its apple, so of course its gonna sell like crazy.

apple is going to introduce the real VIDEO PLAYER later on, maybe a year from now..but for now, even Jobs is saying that this is a audio player that happens to have video capabilities...so let it go

I should be receiving mine in the mail on wed. it says..I am so excited. For my engraving I chose The Minstrel's Prayer by Cartel "Shelter me oh genius words, just give me strength..." Also they might come out with an actual video player in the future but that will most likely be more expensive with an expanded harddrive and more capabilities. I will be fine with this one for a while. If you always go off what "could" come out next year, then you will never buy anything. Why buy a computer now when you can buy a much better computer for the same price next year? Whoever said that we are getting owned by buying this made a very ignorant statement

thats exactly what i just said, that its an ipod with video capabilities and that a full fledged ipod video will be released further down the road. Jobs even admitted to this ipod as being something to test the market.

my brother is having a bitchass time getting the videos onto it.bitchass meaning hard, then i have been going through the same thing, i just got mine today, its awesoem...for video, download the videora converter, and just use the default profile to convert the video. video is fucking outstanding

the people who bought one right before they came out did get owned. I bought a 3g last year (40 gig, barely 8 hr battery life...). 3 weeks later the 4g came out, 100 dollars cheaper and 12-14 hrs battery life.

I bought a shuffle over the summer, 3 weeks later the nano was unveiled. I sold the shuffle and got a nano.

But the owned comment was to the people that just bought one and can't return it, and lost a good $100 on resale value.
