Power Rangers: R.P.M. (Official Thread)

In order to reconnect to my childhood, I have decided to watch the fabled final season of the Power Rangers. The 2-part series premiere aired last Saturday. Thoughts:

-This shit is really dark, those first 5 minutes resembled the Iraq war
-Ziggy is hilarious
-The main character is an android?
-The Red Ranger is black?
-The Yellow Ranger is still hot
-Dillon's prison fight: hardcore
-Dr. K only appears as the letter K on a computer screen. Death Note, anyone?
-Post-apocalyptic Power Rangers, seriously?


In short I loved it. Power Rangers: R.P.M + Kamen Rider Dragon Knight= perfect Saturday morning.

Wait, so this is actually going to be the official end of the series? It's about damn time. Series should've ended long ago after Powers Rangers In Space. That was a fitting finale. Also, this isn't the first time a black guy has been the red ranger. T.J. was the red ranger during Power Rangers Turbo back in the day.

Hahaha, I bring that up amongst my friends all the time. I always wondered how the casting for that went.

It's also a bit of a stretch but I thought it was amusing that the red, white and blue rangers were all white guys.

Yes. I often relay this bit of information to my friends as well, haha. I actually could have sworn that either Jason or Tommy had a Native American heritage....I'm thinking it was Tommy but I really want it to be Jason because he's the red ranger.

Edit: However Tommy did eventually become a red ranger so it all works out either way.

The original Super Sentai series is in its 33rd season so the Power Rangers will never die.

I faintly remember that. IMDB says Jason David Frank's father is Tohono O'odham Indian. And yes, Tommy was the red ranger in Zeo and Turbo so red ranger= Native American

Ziggy's back story was amusing/touching. Ziggy stole a multimillion dollar shipment of medical supplies and gave it to an orphanage. That's why the mob bosses are after him.

Oh, and if you enjoy this show definitely check out Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Both these shows get better and better every week.
